For example, students play a lot of video game instead of doing their homework. Instead of playing video all the time, students should do their homework first and spend less time in the game, instead of going to work and don’t have enough time to do their homework, students should work for less time and spend more time doing their homework. Other students sleep more than doing their homework, I think sleep is an important however school works should be done before going to bed.

Another reason why students should have good grades is to have a scholarship. I think this fact relates to the students and their family directly. There are so many reasons students should get good grades, I think the scholarship is one of the most important reasons to have good grade. there is a lot of organization that can help you have a scholarship, however you should get good grades to to be able to have a scholarship. There are a plethora of different kinds of students as kids take a journey throughout High School. The most impactful difference in students is the ones who take their work seriously and care about how they actually perform in school, and the kids who procrastinate and don’t have any motivation to succeed in their schooling. For the kids who do procrastinate, or don’t put any effort into a GPA, it will affect or can affect them greatly after High School, but for the students that do it can definitely help them in their future. According to “Its Time to Tell the Kids: If you don’t do well in High School, you won’t do well in College”. James E. Rosenbaum shares by this saying that he shares the same opinions, that if kids do well in High School kids can be better prepared college and life, whether it’s school work, or in managing everyday life.…

Grades are often seen to be one of, if not the most effective method of motivating a student to work to their fullest potential. For example, a student who receives an A-grade is going to be encouraged by the grade, as they see it to be an affirmation of their academic efforts. An A-student views their grade with pride, and will work very hard to maintain said grade, once achieved. An example of this is as follows. John recently received an A on his Math test. He then goes home with a sense of pride, bragging about it to all of his friends. John now realizes that he must keep up the good work and continue to work hard for school, in order to continue to feel as good as he does today. Conversely, a failing student will regard his/her grades with shame, and will be more motivated to raise their grade from the gutter as a result. An example of this is as follows. John receives an F for failing to complete an assignment on time. As a reaction to this, John decides that he will turn his life around completely and alter his studying habits so that he turns in his assignments on time in the future. In conclusion, grades are by all means the most effective way of motivating a student to excel.…

The fact that educators expect students to demonstrate a passion for learning is very different from the culture of my previous high school. In high school everything is about grades. All students cared about was retaining the information learned long enough for the test in order to get a good report card. I did this in order to get a high GPA for the purpose of college applications. In college you learn more things that will help you in the future, especially if it's required for your major. Professors want to see students desiring to learn what they have to teach because the students are not required to be in college, it is a choice to further their education beyond high school. Even though there are requirements to earning your AA degree,…

First and foremost, I do sincerely believe that a GPA does not define who a person is or their capability of such things. I believe that it is just a number that does not define any one's weaknesses or strengths. Throughout high school, I tried to maintain my grades at a certain level. I tried my hardest not to have any F’s, C’s, and I tried to minimize any B’s on my report card. In order for my grades to be maintained in the way I wish they were, I had to apply and utilize support I was offered for the classes I needed the most help in. An example would be when I missed the first two weeks of the school year. It was a hectic time because I had to put my one hundred and ten percent in everything to catch up on school work. Even though I am…

To be a successful student, you need to be hardworking, honest, and humble. I personally believe that these are the core elements into creating a well rounded student. Being hardworking is obviously a necessity because it proves to yourself and others that you are doing the best of your ability. Doing your absolute best is all that is needed to show others that you care and that you are dedicated. Being honest and humble go hand-in-hand. When you are being honest you are also showing that you are humble because you care about the people around you while also looking out for yourself. These three qualities really show a person's dedication to being a successful…

All throughout your life you here how important it is to study hard, stay out of trouble, and to stay focused, but there is a lot more when it comes to being a good student and when the definition of good is “of a favorable character or tendency” and the definition of student is “one who attends school,” you’re going to have a wide variety of definitions for what a “good student” really is. Also, is a good student the kid that sits in the front, pays attention and works hard, but still struggles to keep a C plus average? Or is it the kid in the back texting away and still gets just as good grades if not better? Considering the perplexity of the subject it can be both and I believe it entails a deeper meaning than how intelligent you are in school.…
