Why Respect Is Important

Respect has a very great importance in helping us move forward for peace with all people and environments. All around our society; I see of people showing respect. I see respect being shown around our society in many places; from movie theatres, to grocery stores, to even the person making their coffee in the morning. Even to just a simple please and thank you is very respectful. Respect can be shown in many different ways too. Without this where would we be now?
In the movie theatre, I see people showing respect to one another either by standing up to make room or moving their feet when others are coming by to sit down, I see people stop talking when the movie starts and won’t talk until it ends. Everyone is mindful of others by not kicking the chair in front of them. This is only one out of many places to see others respect each other.
This shows that people are willing to respect the beautiful place they live in by cleaning up the trash around town; they choose to show even more by not littering. We are able to see this courtesy in school as well. We see this from respect between students and teachers, students and students, and just all staff members; like cleaning up common areas, helping to pick up something a teacher or student dropped, holding the door for other students and teachers, and not littering in school areas. I would sometimes see kids wearing things like expensive clothes or jewelry and just from judging others and classify themselves as a “higher ranking”, shows disrespect. As a result with this we could learn from it and respect everyone
