During the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was the President of the United States. The battle of Gettysburg was a very large battle. Fought during the American Civil War (1861-1865) near the small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, this battle was the largest and bloodiest battle.The Battle of Gettysburg did not end the Civil War. It was fought in the middle of the war. The war did not end until two years later. The Confederates were defeated and the general of the Confederate Army named Robert E.
