S stands for specific as in the goal is detailed and will help you reach something you want to happen. M stands for measurable and A stands for achievable which means the goal is realistic and can be reached within time set to reach it. R stands for relevant which means the goal is important to you and by reaching it progress is made towards your healthy life. Ideas to help me play more in the next three games are, work harder in practice, encourage others/be a good teammate, and show my energy and passion on the court. Within the next three games I will monitor my progress and make changes to my ideas if they aren't working and after all three games I will evaluate if I met my…

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

A dream is impossible to accomplish when there is no plan in place to achieve them. Setting goals can be beneficial in getting one step closer to achieving dreams and aspirations. For example, it’s like watching a flower grow. When you grow a flower you need the container to put the flower in. Prepare and sterilize the container. Next add the soil in and then plant the seed. Water the plant, make sure the plant gets as much sunlight needed for it to survive. Slowly but surely with the proper plan and care your flower starts to bloom. Goal setting is the container, it’s the base to what you want to achieve in life. Sterilize your container, is just like writing down those dreams. Place the soil in, add water to your ideas, and actually take the time to bring sunlight and action in accomplishing your dreams. Students should create goals because; making progress in something helps motivate yourself in believing that you can achieve your dreams. Otherwise your dreams and aspirations are nothing more than vague ideas moving around in your…
