Why I Want To Be A Supply Corps Officer
My dream has always been to serve my country in any capacity that I can. Hearing stories from both of my grandfathers about their time in service only fueled my desire to one day be able to follow in their footsteps. I was the first in my family to go to college and join the military as an officer. My parents taught me at a young age that you are heavily responsible for your own success in life. My goal of becoming a Naval Officer was set and I wasn’t going to let anything get in my way.
I am a proud alumnus of Arizona State University, W.P Carey School of Business where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Management. As a NROTC midshipman at ASU I served as Battalion Commanding Officer which is one of my best leadership experiences

I took a wide range of business courses including accounting, statistics, finance, business law, supply chain management and many more which perfectly relate to the Supply Corps. In these classes I developed important problem solving skills and was taught how to speak the business language. In my Supply Chain Management class I learned a great deal about the importance of inventory management and customer service. A significant amount of my classes were about organization behavior and leading organizations that will help me in being a more effective Supply Corps Officer. Being able to take what I’ve learned in college and now apply it to the Navy is something that greatly excites me. I had a lead role in the processing of over 1,200 new plebe accessions travel claims, which totaled over $300K and also audited over 12 years of retained returns. I was able to get hands on experience with tasks relating to the Supply Corps, along with picking the brains of successful Supply Corps Officers. These experiences will prove to be crucial to my success as a first tour Supply Officer. I am currently TAD at NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville - Pensacola Detachment where I am working with flight gear issue for all aviation schools on board NAS Pensacola. I play an active role in material management and inventory of Navy/CNATRA assets totaling up to $5 million. This experience is furthering my understanding of acquisition and supply chain management. I have completed over 70 hours of Navy Knowledge Online courses on my own time that were geared towards supply. These courses have expanded my knowledge and understanding of different facets in the Supply

    Having been involved in the scouting program for well over a decade and with most of which being during the most formative times of my life, Scouting has certainly contributed to my desire to become a Marine Corps Officer.
