1. America became involved in the war of 1812 because Great Britain was kidnapping US sailors and forcing them to work for the British navy (Impressment). This was the cause of death for many Americans, and it angered the US. Britain also encouraged Native Americans to revolt against Americans.
2. The battle of New Orleans restored American Pride among the people. It also gave Andrew Jackson a sense of closure concerning the deaths in his family. It was America’s greatest victory in the War of 1812. America was victorious.

Henry Clay’s American system consisted of creating a new national bank, raise taxes on imported goods, and create roads and canals. The south was angry because they felt the American system did not take into consideration their needs and they were excluded. They thought the system only looked out for the north. Without the approval from the south, Clay could never pass the system.
6. The separation between north and south influenced everyone to act nice, and make everyone happy because of the tension that was forming. They wanted everyone to be content. The name “good feelings” refers to how everyone tried to remain calm through the tension.
