Why Do People Use Renewable Energy
Alternate Energy should be used more.
Renewable energy creates three times more jobs then fossil fuels. Renewable energy is being used more in the world. People are realizing that fossil fuels are going to run out soon and that it is destroying the environment. And burning these things releases greenhouse gasses that is causing climate change. Alternate energy should be used more because burning fossil fuels is causing climate change, drilling oil is dangerous, and alternate energy is clean and renewable.

Renewable energy creates three times more jobs then fossil fuels. Renewable energy is being used more in the world. Alternate energy should be used more because burning fossil fuels is causing climate change, drilling oil is dangerous, and alternate energy is clean and renewable.

Alternate energy is renewable and environmental friendly. It is clean and emits little to no greenhouse gas compared to natural resources (www.doe.gov). People do not understand the limitations of fossil fuels. Someday they will run out but wind, water current, and the sun will not run out before fossil fuels do. There are many renewable resources available so not only one source will be over used. Burning fossil fuels is causing climate change. Climate change is increasing heat and glaciers are starting to melt. When glaciers melt sea levels increase and in the past century they have increased by 17 centimeters (climate.nasa.gov). That shows that climate change is actually happening. Also the thickness of artic ice has declined rapidly over the last decade

There has been debating among people in the United States on how the best energy supply. Some people suggests that the United States should in fact decrease its dependency on oil and begin to invest in an alternative energy source like renewable energy, such as wind and solar power – Go green. Others have contended saying that converting over to a new power source would not only be expensive but it is unnecessary because the United Sates already has a sustainable energy source, we just have to search for the resources in unexplored areas within the country and Alaska and the Gulf Coast. Personally, I side with the individuals that agree that the United States invest in an alternative energy source. Renewable energy is already being practiced in some areas of the United States and it has been proven to be more cost effective and healthier for the environment.…

alternative energy source. It is what we know of as standard solar energy where there is a collector that captures that sunlight to heat the air and water and can also generate electricity. Another form of alternative energy is wind energy. An advantage to using alternative energy sources is that they are renewable. A disadvantage of alternative energy sources is that they can be inconsistent, as is the case especially with wind energy. Discuss how they work, how they compare with fossil fuels, and their relative advantages and disadvantages. A major advantage of fossil fuels is their…

Renewable energy sources are vital to the survival of our population as well as saving the environment. Fossil Fuels are going to run out, it is inevitable, so more needs to be done to increase the utilization of renewable energy. One of our main sources of energy is oil. There is only a finite amount though, and even though we only started using it around the 1900s, it will all be gone around 2100. This gives us time to learn more about renewable sources, but in the end the clock is ticking.…

Rodman D. Griffin’s article entitled “Alternative Energy: Can Renewable Energy Sources Replaces Fossil Fuels?” is about alternative methods of getting energy. The article goes into great detail of how America has gone into such an increase in using oil and other non-renewable resources. America spends billions of dollars a year on oil and gas to fuel the countries working class. This was incorporated in my paper along with other facts that Griffin uses throughout his article. His article gave me insight to the crisis that we face everyday and a new wave of thinking when it comes to alternative energy.…

Energy is an important part of our everyday lives. Energy can come in many different types, and forms it can be used for many different purposes. Energy has many different usages and can be converted from one form of usage to another form of usage depending on what the need is. One form of energy conversion is the use of food to supply people's bodies with energy. Another form of energy is how coal is converted into electricity. Fuel is another form of energy that can be used for many different usages as well. Fuel is used for much different reason such as allowing our cars to function and our lawnmowers to cut grass. There are many different reasons why people use energy in the many different ways that we use it. Even though people rely on energy usage, some of the forms of energy we use are very harmful to the environment and even dangerous to ourselves. The harmful and dangerous fuels that we use can be changed to alternative methods of energy usage. There are two different types of alternative energy, which is known as renewable energy. Renewable energy is very resourceful and is able to be used because it is all around us there will not be a shortage of material and it is safer on every living thing and being. Energy and fuel usage just like everything else in the world has its advantages and disadvantages about using it. We must collectivity figure out which source of energy is right for everyone but for now we will find out which is best to use in your…

In 1977, the President of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter, advocated for the use of alternative energy to the American people “because we are now running out of gas and oil, we must prepare quickly to strict conservation [of fossil fuels] and to the use of coal and permanent renewable energy sources, like solar power.” More than thirty years later his announcement still rings true and is relevant. In fact, the current situation of non-renewable fuels is worse than in 1977. This is because American and global society is becoming more mobile and active, which is causing fossil fuels to be diminished at a higher rate than ever. Scientific discovery like the innovation of steam power and river power in the nineteenth century was a catalyst for meeting energy needs. Almost two hundred years later, the time to update energy solutions has arrived. Even though people disagree, alternative energy is the correct solution to the problem of diminishing fossil fuels. Therefore it is imperative that alternative energy be used more often than non-renewable resources due to their renewability, benefits to the environment and humankind, and its ability to stimulate the economy with an independent energy market.…

Energy is very important, especially for the people of the United States. It has become an integral part of our lives and we have grown dependent on it. Therein lies the problem, however, because the more we use it, the less there is. We have to find alternative forms of energy before it is gone and we are left high and dry. Not only is our sources decreasing, it is also polluting our beautiful world. Reducing the use of energy and finding alternatives is our only choice when considering the future of America. Cheap gas may sound great right now but once it is gone, it is gone for good. We cannot be selfish and only think of the now, we must look to the future and preserve our resources so that our grandkids will have a good life. We have made…

Energy is the foundation of industrialized world; without energy, life as we know it would cease to exist. The yearly energy and fuel consumption rates have risen dramatically within the last years. This phenomenon is a direct result of globalization pressures, the international information network we call the Internet, and a population that seems to be hitting the dangerous upswing of the Malthusian curve. Although there is not yet a current shortage of conventional fuels, such as reserves of coal, oil and other fossil fuels are limited and non-renewable. In addition, the common practice of burning oil, coal, and other assorted hydrocarbons has resulted in hazardous environmental conditions such as global warming, acid rain and dangerously high air pollution levels. This and other environmental disasters have brought about a demand for alternative fuel and energy sources that are convenient, environmentally friendly, and economically viable. The U.S. Department of Energy defines alternative fuel as fuel that is essentially non-petroleum and yields energy security and environmental benefits. Following are some of the fuels the Department of Energy currently recognizes as alternative fuels methanol, hydrogen, liquid and compressed natural gas, and electric fuel. Alternative sources of energy are classified as energy provided from sources other than fossil fuels. This includes but is not limited to nuclear power, solar power, hydropower and biomass. Currently, many of these alternate sources are in use, but unfortunately they are underused or underdeveloped because of perceived shortcomings or drawbacks. While some of these fuel and energy sources may indeed lack the efficiency or cost effectiveness of the conventional fuel and energy, having a clean living planet far outweighs the cost of clean energy.…

Energy resources have had a widespread effect on everyday lives across the nation. Day by day from sunup to sundown about 30 percent of the world's energy is being used by the United States. Ideally energy comes from the burning of fossil fuels and oils imported from across the globe. However, there has been various disputes on how the United States could find alternative energy sources for widespread use. Alternative energy is any form of energy used that is not fossil fuel that come from energy sources that can be replenished in a short period of time.…

My position on this issue was originally renewable energy is beneficial for our environment. I believed this because I thought that using the fossil fuels was ruining our environment. Burning fossil fuels emits harmful gases. The use of coal, oil, and natural gas are causing problems with the earth’s o-zone layer and has caused the green-house effect and the fossil fuel supplies are depleting. I thought that using solar powered energy, geothermal energy, hydro-powered energy, wind-powered energy, hydrogen- powered energy, and biomass energy would bring about a green environment and help to save the earth in the end. Also renewable energy does not run out, and creates little or no pollution.…

Electricity is something that is used worldwide, in different ways. People don’t ever think about where it comes from or the effects it has. According to the article, worldwide, about 45% of energy is generated from burning coal. Many people don’t see the many effects of burning coal. When coal is burned, products such as carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides are released into the atmosphere. Coal is one of the most common used ways to generate electricity covering 40% of all energy made today. The thing is coal is estimated to only last 100 more years. There are other alternatives such as wind energy. Wind energy has many reasons as to why it’s better such as it is a renewable fuel source, it has no ongoing fuel costs, and…
