Why Are Syrian Refugees Fleeing Their Homeland?
In the desperation to get to safety, many Syrian’s have left their homes and attempted to cross the border. Some have been arrested, and others have died in their attempt to run from the War in Syria. Entire families run together, even today to get away from the danger zone. These people are risking their lives just to get the opportunity to live. Should the United States of America admit more refugees? No, the United States should not. The Syrians began to flee their homeland back in 2011, when rebels went up against the Syrian government, according to a CBS article, “Good Question: Why Are Syrian Refugees Fleeing Their Homeland?” Then ISIS started working its way in Syria and divided the country even more. All the bloody violence that arose influenced more and more Syrians to flee the country. Since before the rise of the War in Syria began, many Syrians were already migrating to other countries. What made it noticeable that the Syrians were actually fleeing their country was the sudden huge increase in the number of immigrants from Syria to Europe and across to other countries.
In 1939, during the War in Germany with the Nazis, the United States made it difficult for Jews to get visas due to the fear that the Nazis would send spies into the country. Martin Niemoller, a German

After a while, when the enemy sees they can’t defeat you, they will change methods to find weakness and use it against us. Our weakness cannot be trying to save every Syrian’s life through refugee camps. Because we can only bring a certain amount of refugees into the United States while simultaneously maintaining a structured control. Therefore, we should send more troops to Syria and help them defend their land. It is very simple, we fight in foreign land today or wait for tomorrow when we will have to fight in our

Being Jewish anywhere in the world was hard in the 1930s and 40s. Almost all know about German jewish hardship, the systematic slaughter of millions of jews in death camps across Hitler’s empire, but what many do not understand is that anti-semitism was incredibly strong in the United States as well. However, in a time when almost none stood by their side, Franklin Delano Roosevelt seemed the only world leader who cared. However, his cabinet did not share his welcoming attitude, and attempted to sabotage him. Although Roosevelt demonstrated that he did care about saving the Jews, his administration perpetrated systematic denial of Jewish entry to the country. Because he did not do enough to investigate this until it was too late, he is…

The U.S. is having a hard time deciding what to do about immigrants. No one knows what to do. No decision has been made on whether they are going to let them in and help the innocent people, or are they going to leave them out because of the ones who aren't actually Syrian Refugees. So, do we risk the chance or leave them all out and be better safe than sorry? There hasn't been a final decision yet.…

In 1929 the State Department began to strictly enforce all immigration laws. During this time many Jews were fleeing Germany in search of a safe haven which they were usually denied here in the United States. It is found, “After World War II began in 1939, American consuls…

The Jewish Eastern European population suffered immeasurable losses during the second World War. While the focus remains on the horrific acts committed by Germany, there is one that is glossed over. That is the immigration policy instituted by the United States of America. An immigration policy that discriminated and prohibited entrance to the country for many Jewish refugees. Whilst Germany was committing mass genocide, America did little to stop them.…

My first reason is many innocent people are losing their lives in Syria due to the outrageous war that has been happening since 2011. An example is in the article it says over 100 thousands of Syrian citizens have been killed since 2011. Another reason is while families try to escape the growling civil war they are loosing their lives in transit. Another example is a 3 year old kid drowned trying to flee with his Syrian family. My final reason is Syrians are starting to suffer and die from cold and sickness. My final example is a lot of Syrian refugees are severely suffering from flu, pneumonia, diseases, and Syrians say it won’t be long before a young Syrian child freezes to death. Even after the events of the holocaust we still hide and don't help with the Syrian refugees who are desperately dying off and seek our…

response to the Holocaust. The foremost concerns the highly selective application of established American immigration policy to Jewish refugees trying to get away from their increasingly violent persecution in Germany in the 1930s and from the horrors of the Holocaust during the warfare. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) in 1924 had imposed extremely tight limits on immigration to the U.S. and the limited quota for immigrants from Germany was not as detached in the 1930s, despite the American growing awareness of the systematic discrimination, mass incarceration, and nation-sponsored violence against Jews in Nazi…

If one ever sees a child getting injured by the bullies, their first instinct should be protecting the child from the bullies and the harm. Not only they are protecting the child, you treat the injuries on them. This is similar case happened when Syrian Civil War broke out in 2011, killing and hurting many of the civilians. To avoid the worst-case scenarios, many Syrians are escaping from their homes, where many other countries are welcoming them to their new homes for safety. Although many believe that United States should not allow Syrian refugees, but it is very clear that United States allow them because it is more capable of taking the refugees, since they are more economically, socially, and politically stable than other countries and…

    Syrian Refugees Crisis

The Syrian Refugee Crisis is certainly a hot-button issue today. It has been the subject of major political debate in the last federal election, with many criticising the Conservative Government for its slow speed, lack of commitment, and alleged cherry-picking attitude towards refugee resettlement. The Liberal Party, meanwhile, capitalized on the emotional atmosphere following the release of the photograph of the Syrian child, Alan Kurdi, dead on a Turkish beach; they pledged to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by the end of 2015 if elected (Levitz 2016). Comments have been made by figures from both sides of the political spectrum, some deeply emotion while others racists or prejudiced. The public has raised numerous fears, both rational and irrational, of terrorism, burdens on the welfare system, and a rise in cultural and racial tensions. Even the American Senate got involved, with senators claiming that terrorists would enter Canada as refugees then infiltrate the United States, a claim that has later been debunked (Panetta 2016).…

There are over 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States the majority of those are from Mexico, Central and South America who are seeking asylum in this country for reasons like escaping poverty, gangs, cartels or corruption. What we belive is that we have to have an easy way for immigrants to be granted citizenship so that we do not keep seperating families like what is going on under the Obama administration which has led to the deportaion of around 2 million immigrants. We do however support President Obama’s executive order about DACA and also start the program DAPA that will help grant a work permit as well as legal staus to parents of DREAMERs and U.S. Citizens. We need to take in more Syrian refugees to help them escape…

There are multiple reasons that people immigrate. “Throughout history, people have left their native lands for a variety of reasons: religious or racial persecution, lack of political freedom, economic deprivation.”( Britannica 399) In many countries, people are leaving because it’s not good for them to live there anymore. In places like the middle east, people are trying to leave because of terrorists like Isis. Terrorists are the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. Also in the middle east, there was the taliban which was a large group or multiple smaller groups that tried to take over countries in the middle east. They captured villages and killed many people to punish others for their actions.…
