Canadian schools tend to accept greater amounts American financial aid and they allow students to get paying jobs.’ When you run into colleges like this, you want to be able have things they are offering from that college.’ (Tomer page 2)

When you only take one class, it should be free one class it should be free most of the time you pay out of pocket. Sometimes you always pay out of pocket you go and get financial aid. In addition, Americans want tuition to be free because when you have something that’s free you take advantage of it. Some students don’t they only want go for really care for college they only want to make difficult for us students. Some students don’t care if its free or not but, I do I can’t afford to pay out of pocket all the time. I think it should be more affordable for the college students.

Current students give their opinion on whether or not they believe community college should be free and a student Felipe Bezerra says. “Tuition shouldn’t be free for those who can afford it.” I agree with Mr. Bezerra because community college tuition is not very high and if students who parents can afford to pay for their college should. Since waivers already exist for students with low income families they receive the help they need. Students also receive a pell grant, for families whose income is high their kids receive less however if college tuition is free than we are simply helping the families that can afford to pay their students education save money. Since community college is basically already free for low income students, we are really only providing help to the families who are not low…

When someone says free, nobody assumes money. People consider America, or the right to speak freely without worry, not free college. To brand something that costs so much now as free would be quite a large task. “That’s why I am sending this Congress a bold new plan to lower the cost of community college – to zero”, former President Barrack Obama stated in his speech on free tuition. He states that college can cost nothing to anyone, but free will never be free. Credit is not given, only earned. Increasing the already insatiable amount of taxes that American citizens pay for is just the beginning. Lowering the quality of education received when there are thousands of new students going to institutions just for the reason that it is free. Higher education will be suffering in numerous ways, including: increased quantity of students, reduced salary once a degree is attained, not to mention a higher percentage of scholars dropping out. The first two years of college should not be “free.”…

Free college is not free because “it simply shifts costs from students to taxpayers and caps tuition at zero”(Kelly). Free college is paid through tax dollars and the more people that want to attend these “free colleges” the more taxes United States citizens have to pay. Public funds are challenged to keep up with the amount of students choosing these colleges, so schools are turning applications down. Many community colleges have had to turn people down, for example, “California’s community colleges turned away 600,000 students” (Kelly). If college tuition was not so expensive, then there would be fewer people going to free college and public funds would be able to keep up.…

Many people care too much about the college cost after their kids’ graduation or their whole life for saving to the college tuition. I personally don't believe that college should be free. Making it free would only serve to limit the value of the education while filling colleges with students that have no business/need there. College would become nothing more than a 4 year extension of high school if it were free. As things are now, society needs about 25% of the population to have a college degree for the jobs that require one and about 30% of the population has a degree. As a result, you hear from a lot of people that believe that they wasted time getting the degree because it's not serving them as an employment enhancer.…
