Rosa Parks is a hero because she was able to stand up for herself on the bus. This was when the driver asked her to give her seat to a white person and she refused to do it (Rosa Parks My Story). The primary reason she had refused was because she knew that the Jim Crow laws were awful and unfair for blacks.The other reason was that she was tired of giving in.This demonstrated that Rosa was tired of giving in but the actions she took had serious consequences.This makes her a hero because she had stood up for herself during segregation which was really dangerous back then. …show more content…
One way she stood up for others was by influencing the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Montgomery bus boycott was 391 days long and the busses had to shut down because they were not making any money (The Story Behind The bus freedom Walkers).
