Loggers had an very important role in the lumber industry. They were the main part of getting wood for fires, homes, and landscaping. loggers logs from loggers helped to built towns. Rivers and waterfalls were very helpful to loggers. Rivers were very good highways for the logs. It made the logs easier to transport to the sawmills. Waterfalls made power for the sawmills to run. There were many machines that they used. Hot water pumps kept water from freezing so it could be used in the winter months. Railways moved logs out of the forests. Steam powered saws were faster and had circular blades. There were lots of people that worked in the lumber industry. Lumberjacks worked for many hours and got paid
