What my family means to me
I want to remember with my monument to my family in Germany. I choose family because family means everything to me. Without my family I don’t know where I would be. Since I`m here I had so much time to think about them and to miss them. Family are the people that make you who you are. They are your blood. Your family is the people that you care most about, but at the same time because you are so comfortable being around them, they are the people whom you sometimes take your anger out on. They may not be right there with you, but they are only a phone call away. If there is something that you need, you can always depend on someone in your family to get it for you. Family is always there when you need them to be. My family means the world to me. Every time I have a problem their always open, like a door that never closes and locks. And when they comfort you, they are like a pillow and blanket that is their too keep you warm and feel great. My family helps me reach my goal in life. I am lucky that I even have a family. Some families can be torn apart. A family means each person of the family should love and care for the family, no one should be left alone in the darkness. They teached me a lot, they take almost always take the time to help me when I need something and they care about me a lot too much sometimes which can be annoying because they act too over protective but it’s for my own good at the end of the day, they only want the best for me as they always say. As I understand more and more about how and why they act certain ways and make certain decisions.
When I was younger, I never thought about what my family means for me. They are the whole life with you and it was granted for me. When I moved out, I started to think about the meaning of my family for me. I enjoyed more the time to be with

My family defines who I am as a person because they are my backbone and the reason why I strive to do my best. My mother’s family has sheltered me ever since I was born they were there for me when I had nobody. Generally I was unwanted by my other side of family, but my mother’s family never neglected me, they have made my life very easy and guided. In my understanding the reason why I said they are my backbone is because as a child( Baby) I had nothing and I was seriously ill but they never abounded me. My grandparents also went far distance into the village to find a cure to my illness and my aunties & uncle used their dorm room bed sheet as a cloth for me. This is why I appreciate everything in my life because I was a nobody as a baby.…

The meaning of family is too pass traits on through the generations. Although at the time I did not want to work hard and spend time with my grandfather it was worth it because he was passing on his hard working characteristics that he acquired in his life and was passing them on to me. I learned a lot working with my grandfather. At first I would be slacking off and not getting much done but he taught that it makes more sense to get your work done first then relax later. This trait has helped me in school because it showed me not to procrastinate and get assignments done as soon as…

What does family mean to you? “People you share love with a guess. I don’t think that it means only blood relation. Friends can be family because you can become so close and trust each other,” explained Bridgett Terry, the subject of my ethnography interview. What is family? She went on to describe that technically family is a social group made of parents and their children, whether they all live together or not. No matter where you are in the world, your family is always your family. It is not a geographically relative term. However, the concept of family can be less strictly applied to everyday life. For example, a person can have many different families. Some are of choice and some are ascribed. Some types of families may be preferred over…

It is one of several times in life where our own definition of family shifts. My parents and siblings are still very important to me but now my focus is the family that we are creating. We also have a little dog that we all consider part of our family. Luckily for my children they do not have to choose which parent to live with or when they are scheduled for visitations. Children have to deal with those difficult decisions more often than ever before, many times there are two families with parents, step parents and step…

Family is an abstract concept that could be interpreted in many various forms. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, Family is “a group of individuals living under one roof” “of common ancestry” and of “an identifiable strain” “united by certain convictions or a common affiliation”. But family may be to many much more than that. It is an invisible bond attaching people together, interweaving their lives and creating family strengths which is defined by ECI Standards Manual for Contracted Programs Glossary as “characteristics that family members identify as contributing to the growth and development of the child and family. Among the areas of family life that many families identify as strengths are coping strategies, nurturing relationships, communication, religious or personal beliefs, family competence, and family/community interconnectedness”.…

In every conceivable manner, a family is liked to our past, and a bridge to our future. We all live in a family setting that can consist of one or many of our relatives. Growing up I lived with my mother, father, and my two younger brothers. I was born in Wurzburg, Germany due to the fact that my father was in the Army but I grew up in rural Portland, North Dakota. The nice thing for me growing up was the fact that both sets of my grandparents and my aunts and uncles also lived there. I believe our family traditions and the cultural legacies came from my ancestors, grandparents, and my other relatives. Our family traditions and our cultural beliefs contribute to our family values in which we follow today. I believe we take the parts of the past that meant the most to us and we also combined it with the new traditions we follow today that were created by our family. As a family style we make a house a home with love to share with all that live there.…

Have you ever wondered who would be there for you if something tragic happened? When something bad happens to you, you think all of your friends are going to be there right next to you. I unfortunetaly learned the hard way that is not the case. I did learn that my family will be there no matter what happens in my life. Parents are there to put food on the table, take care of the kids, and make sure they are doing the best they can for their child/children. I believe that family loves you no matter what: if you mess up, get injured, basically anything that happens to you, you can go to your family for help.…
