“The Cask of Amontillado” is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. The short story is about a man named Montresor who works for a man named Fortunato. Fortunato treats Montresor remarkably bad, but Montresor is okay with it until Fortunato insulted according to Montresor. Montresor has vowed revenge on Fortunato. In this short story Poe used a mass amount of dramatic irony. The dramatic irony in this story is important because the reader knows what is going to happen but the victim does not know.
