What Is The Difference Between Diction And Syntax

I believe this book will also be challenging for me to read due to its diction and syntax. While I was going though this book, I notice the syntax of Markus Zusak's writing. The way his sentences are structured and arranged are different from what I’m use to when i’m reading, but are still simply enough for me to understand the plotline and what is happening to all of the characters. Another reason why this book will also be a challenge for me is because of the diction. When I looked though this book some of the words are in German, which would is a challenge for me since I don’t know German and it will effect my understanding of the story.
