A leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered because he stood up for african americans’ equal rights. he would lead calm, peaceful protest because he thought that violence would not solve the answer. He often got death threats, but he ignored them. He wanted to end racism. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a leader in the civil rights movement.
Peaceful protest where priest, civil rights leaders, politicians and many more people. They thought they thought violence would not solve the answer. They thought that if they use violence instead of words, that they would provoke others that believe the opposite respond in a bad way. Some peaceful protest involve the boycott, a protest that lasted two to three years. It started when Rosa Parks, another civil rights leader, was arrested for not getting up for another white person n a bus. The boycott was where african americans did not ride the bus until the rule was changed. They walked or rode bikes to get around whenever they needed to.
