Metaphor is quite different from a simile which most people get confused and think that both are the same; simile uses the words “like or as” when comparing or differentiating .Metaphor is powerful to use because they upset our expectation boring connections between ideas that force our brains to work harder to understand the writers or speakers intent and once we grasp that intent the revelations leads to a more vivid image.
