What Happened To Margot
Everyone just stood in the cold and the dark classroom looking at the empty closet they had released Margot from. Looking at Margot’s cold, raw face staring at them made everyone uncomfortable. Nobody said anything to anyone, but you could hear the teacher hollering to find the kids. Everyone is still continuing to stand there with their dead expressions on their faces. The teacher found them all and instantly everyone started weeping because of what crime act they’ve all just committed. The teacher was very confused on why everyone was crying, but Margot, the one who should be crying. William had to admit what they’ve done because he knew they would all get in trouble. All the children got in trouble, and Margot went home to not hear the shouting at the students. She still had a bitter cold expression on her face. Her parents weren’t home at the time, so …show more content…
They were wondering what happened and why she was mournful on such a alluring day. She explained what happened and her parents fumed. They reported all the children to the principal and he reported that he already knew. None of the parents knew what happened except for Margot’s parents. The principal didn’t want the other parents to know, but Margot’s parents told them anyway for what actions their children have done to Margot. All of the parents started fights with Margot’s parents swearing their children didn’t do that. Margot just was following, same facial expressions as she was locked in the closet. She kept remembering everyone’s face, her thrusting her body against the cold door. Foundering on the closet floor, thinking about why she even moves here in the first place. She kept remembering earth, she misses her old friends, she misses the sun, she misses everything. Nobody was ever nice to her, making fun of the way she spoke, how she looked, how she talked, she couldn’t do one thing without someone saying

Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. When the bell rang he went to his locker and when he got to class he looked out the window and saw the same car that followed him to school. The only person he thought of was Simon. But he didn’t have a car? Rufus ran to the office to explain the…

Beatty and her inside story into this previously uncharted territory, I sensed as though she was a woman who possessed a very intimate bond with the students. In the story, when describing what occurred on days when the students mourned someone who was killed, Ms. Beatty notes that “boys lingered over handshakes and looked into my eyes solemnly. Girls threw their arms around me and wordlessly moved away. No one said enough.” (Beatty; par. 5). A majority of her descriptions of students and events, as well as her diction, seem somewhat heartfelt yet a bit plainly stated on the surface; however, the cultural distance between Ms. Beatty and the students seemingly increases the more we observe how she interacts with them. When Ms. Beatty discusses how the kids hugged her, the description actually makes her seem somewhat aloof. The way that the author words the sentence makes it seem as though the children approach her with emotions and she is simply present, receiving the…
