I don’t believe that the students would benefit from repeating the lesson. Elementary schools have to stay on a strict schedule of what to teach and that was extremely challenging for me at times. If I was to make modifications on this TWS I would break down instruction into small-sub steps and practice each sub-step before moving on to ensure all students understood the material.

I demonstrated and explained new ideas into great detail, and checked the students understanding often. This EBP clearly showed students what to do and how to do it, rather than having the students discover or construct information by themselves. This effective practice ensured that the students had clear instructions on what was expected of them and what they needed to learn. It allowed the students the opportunity to engage with the learning process, ask questions, and receive positive feedback from me.

• The EBP that helped me enhance student success was to set high expectations for the classroom and students. I challenged students to do their best, encouraged them to work hard, and provided positive feedback.

• To effectively manage the classroom climate I provided positive reinforcement and praise both verbal and non-verbal to let them know they met my expectations. • I need to encourage more positive interactions between students during instruction to promote learning and collaboration. I was hesitant at times to allow students to work in groups because I didn’t know their developmental level or how certain students worked with each other. I’m also not sure how to manage the classroom while students are working in groups. Observing other teachers and talking to them about having students collaborate together successfully would support this growth.
