What Does Respect Mean To You Essay
One of my favorite Who We Are Values is respect. Respect to me is the unspoken way of showing someone you appreciate their values as a person regardless of their physical appearance, ethnicity, age, economic status, religious or political belief. It means acknowledging and valuing others’ point of view even if they are different from yours and you don’t have to necessarily agree with them. Respect is a basic moral value of human beings, and having respect in such a diverse workplace like Wegmans is very important because it creates such positive, supportive, and productive work environment. For me, coming to work and greeting everyone I meet with a smile, whether to my managers, coworkers, other Wegmans employees, or customers, is a simple way of showing them my respect by acknowledging their present. …show more content…

It also allows me to do my best every day and improves the quality of my service. Respect makes Wegmans a more welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable place to

As employees we have all felt the differences between respect amongst our co-workers. This can be real or imagined but nearly all of us, at some time, have felt this emotion. This mostly occurs when management puts forth an heir of self-importance or simply treats its employees indifferently(Pierce & Newstrom, 2011, p. 118). This benign treatment of employees lowers morale, causes poor work performance, and can cause internal strife within a business(Pierce & Newstrom, 2011, p. 118). It should be avoided at all costs as to better the company.…

Before working at La Vitas II, I used to work at shop rite as a cashier. Even though a cashier and a waitress are very different, I know I learned a lot from there that I still use today as a waitress. Being a cashier at a super market makes you learn a lot about dealing with people on a day-to-day basis. Not everyone is good at working with the public because people can be very rude and most of the time you can’t say anything back, you just need to smile and work the situation out to make the customer happy.…

The company’s behavior patterns establish its culture and may be perceived as favorable or unfavorable by customers and employees. It has been found the organizational leaders model the kinds of behaviors the company accepts or desires. “The ways managers and leaders interact with subordinates and associates will have considerable impact on the way all employees behave toward customers (Timm 2013 p.35)”. If managers and owners take the time to make the job an exciting and pleasant experience, the employees in turn, will make the visit for customers exciting and pleasant. Company culture and positive behaviors can be created through company parties, breakfast meetings, and holiday celebrations. This unifies companies, employers, and employees to learn more about each other through pleasant experiences. It also allows employees to learn and understand the company’s expectations. While working for Papa John’s, I made it fun and inviting place for both employees and customers. We decorated the store according to the holiday season and we held company…

Respect. We would all love for people to treat us the same way that we treat them. Some people do not realize that what they say or what they do can really hurt someone, or possibly have a negative impact on them for the rest of their lives. I always say be cautious, and always stay wise to the actions you take, especially when it comes to someones feelings. You never know what someone could be going through in their life, so sometimes it is always better to be kinder to one another.…

The article I choose to write about has to do with the importance of respect in a diversity workplace. And how it came about and what it stands for. Diversity is the form of different people with different type of views on life as well as their lifestyles. What does respect mean to you? To me, respect means following the golden rule. It means treating others with kindness, love, generosity, and having polite manners. “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” That is the golden rule, is it not? Who wouldn’t want to be treated with kindness? Who wouldn’t want to be around someone with manners and cleanliness? Respect is being considerate to others and their feelings and beliefs. Respect isn’t just for others though, you need to respect yourself as well; take care of yourself and be presentable. If you would like to be treated with respect, you, first, need to learn to respect yourself and others. Once that is accomplished, others will learn to respect you.…
