What Does Being A Leader Mean To You Essay
Would you call yourself a leader? Why or why not? I would not call myself a leader because I see myself more of a follower. To me, the definition of a leader is someone who is challenging the process, who take risks, and challenge opportunities. These characteristics does not describe me because I am afraid of challenging myself. I do not like to take risks because I do not like to fail. Instead, I am more of a follower. I have role models who I look up to and learn from them. They inspire me and encourage me. In addition, being a leader means inspiring others and giving them helpful advice. One of my biggest weakness is giving other people advices. I can not guarantee that the advice I give others will actually help them or harm them. If the advice I give does not work, I do not want them to put the blame on me.

Explain. Have you told that person that they inspired you? Why or why not? Yes, Martin Luther King Jr inspires me. Although I have never met him in real life (and never will), I believe that he is a really great leader. Not only has he inspired me, but he has inspired many people across the world. Martin Luther King Jr was a fighter, who would not stop until he achieve justice. He stood up for what he believed in when others were afraid to. His courage left a legacy and paved the path for other people, giving them a stronger voice in government, jobs, and universities. Therefore, Martin Luther King Jr is a leader and also someone who I truly admires. I am completely different from him. Unlike Martin Luther King Jr, I am afraid to stand up for what I believe in because not only do I lack courage, I care about what others will think. I have not told Martin Luther King Jr that he inspired me because he is not

The role of a leader is challenging task to take on, especially when you're a young boy. As proven in the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, in order to be an effective leader, you have to have no moral character. Being a leader without moral character leads to more effective ruling, because your followers will obey you more than a ruler with moral character, who tends to be more lenient with their style of ruling. The challenge was taken by originally taken on by Ralph, who with moral character, tried to keep the island in order, and Jack, who without moral character, ruled more efficiently and had more people listen to his orders. Being a leader without moral character, such as Jack, is more effective than being a leader with moral…

I am a leader. I have all the qualities that make a great leader, but I was not born this way.Experiences and how someone reacts to those experiences are what truly make a leader. One of the most influential experiences I have gone through is called the Lebanon High School Marching Band. I am certain that I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for marching band. Before coming to high school I already had leadership qualities, but band helped bring all those great qualities together and helped me get past my two major flaws: my lack of self-confidence and the fact that I was probably one of the shyest people you would EVER meet. When I joined marching band, I spent most of my waking hours sweating and suffering alongside wonderful people that I longed to…

In my opinion, leadership is more than just someone who can enlist the aid of others to accomplish a specific task. It is a characteristic and a lifestyle of a person. True leadership is not displayed on days we feel like it. It is a constant display of ones actions to accomplish tasks and set an example for others to emulate. A leader is someone who can be turned to in the absence of knowledge or direction and will either have the answer or know where to get the answer.…

Being a leader is more than simply holding a leadership position or having the ability to lead. Everyone is capable of being a leader, but not everyone exercises his or her leadership abilities. Each person’s idea of leadership is different. My idea of leadership has developed over time, and being a member of the President’s Leadership Class has helped me develop my philosophy of leadership further than what it was two months ago. My personal philosophy of leadership is the ability to effect change through leading by example, taking initiative, and encouraging others.…
