What can be done to reduce air pollution
Smog now darkens the sky in cities the world over, and the air we all breathe is increasingly contaminated with particulate matter and carbon monoxide. These pollutants are hazardous to human and environmental health.Gandhi said once :Be the change you want to see in the world. So how can you personally clean up the air? You might be surprised to learn how much your efforts can help.First you should rethink your transportation. You can take the bus or the metro instead of going somewhere by car. Taking a bus or train to work, school or any other activity has a lot of advantages. Aside from doing your part to reduce air pollution, you'll have extra time to read, knit, do crosswords, or people watch. Taking public transportation is also safer than driving, and will probably help reduce your anxiety level since you won't have to deal with rush hour traffic. You should try walking or cycling too.The second thing that only depends to you is recycling. I am sure that you all know a lot about recycling but there are some useful tips that you may not know.Try to buy items that come in glass containers so you can reuse them over and over again. Plastic is reusable, too, but be careful reusing it too often to store food, since chemicals can leach from the plastic into the food over time. Make a compost pile in your yard, into which you can throw your vegetable peelings and other food scraps. After you've tended your pile for a few months, you'll have rick, black compost you can use to feed your garden.
You can also consider rethinking your heathing and cooling habbits and conserving energy.Thank you!

Climate change and global warming are important issues that affect everyone on planet earth. The future of our planet is reliant on us solving this issue. Canada has done a lot to be an active contributor to the minimizing this problem such as signing the Paris agreement, which deals with greenhouse gases and emissions mitigation. It is very important for Canada as a developed nation to play a large role in this conversation. Canada may not be number 1 in greenhouse emission but our emission are rather disproportionate to our population in the world. Canada consume more energy than all African nation’s combined. Therefore I believe Canada could be doing more to address this problem. Canada can help reduce carbon emissions by investing and…

Air Canada is one of the largest airlines in the world. It is a company that supports the development and use of alternative, environmentally friendly fuels such as biofuels. While this is true, all their decisions are informed by economic, environmental and social sustainability. With air travel demand growing, there is an increase in fuel consumption. Currently, combustion of fossil fuel is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, which has a large impact on climate change. Air Canada’s commitment to greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions. As the technology develops for producing biofuels, and costs for sustainable biofuels are reduced, the use of bio-aviation fuels will play a major role in reducing pollutants enabling the company to reduce…

Nowadays, the environmental crisis is an emergency concerned with the place in which every person lives. This crisis concerning cars and trucks and the government laws is affecting the automotive manufacture in a pregnant manner. In fact, the environmental movement has been accused of having major accountability for the nation's energy calamity. In this discussion board I am explaining how the federal government is taking the first formal step to regulate global warming pollution in our cities. Even though, this was a 30 year back and forth battle between regulators and automakers, now the EPA is considering a rational tactic to change regulations for greenhouse gas emission from mobile and stationary foundations under the clean air act.…

This case focuses on corporate obstacles to pollution prevention. Pollution prevention can complex especially for large corporations. There are many different forms of pollution prevention including emissions control devices and incremental changes in existing technology. The author reviews the impact of emissions controlled devices, however the focus of the case study is on incremental changes in existing technology. Incremental changes include substituting one or two steps in a production process or relationship changes between production steps. One example of incremental changes that was provided by the author was eliminating chlorofluorocarbons and saving energy by replacing a refrigeration process with a heath exchanger that can exploit waste cooling from another part of the process. There are three critical decision-making stages for incremental changes; identifying a pollution prevention opportunity, finding a solution appropriate to that opportunity, and implementing that solution. The author discusses the three aspects of an organization (culture, ability to process information, and its politics) and how they impact the decision-making stages.…

Global Warming refers to the gradual increase in the Earth’s temperature as a result of the growing concentration of human induced green house gases which are carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and hydro fluorocarbon in our atmosphere. Global warming can be caused by the use of fossil fuels, and industrial or agricultural processes. Man-made emissions are adding to the amount of carbon dioxide already being naturally released. These harmful processes have been leading to a large increase in the buildup of "greenhouse gases," which are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and water vapors. Global warming is an extremely severe problem facing the world today. Its effects and causes have been on the rise and people need to do something about it before the problem gets any worse. There are several ways to reduce the effects of global warming.…

Are some of the most dangerous air pollutants cause cancer. The impact of pollutants on respiratory strong or weak, in part dependent on their solubility in water. If contaminants are soluble in water when the air we breathe, we will dissolve the liquid in the airways and impact on the agency. Nature into the lungs of a variety of pollutants has been linked to the presence of the aerosol in the air. Normally these contaminants do not penetrate deep into the trachea and bronchi, but thanks to the aerosol absorption which can penetrate deeper in the lungs and until the alveoli.…

Chief Executive GET & Joint Secretary ARUP Islamabad, PAKISTAN email get@isb.paknet.com.pk ABSTRACT: As impact of airborne pollution been widely recognized, its management is considered as an important component in controlling AQ in the Asian Context. Important parameters and components of Air Quality Management are being discussed. AQ can be improved by integrating a number of technical and management options and financial incentives including, monitoring, evaluation and actions e.g. emission inventorization of various type of activities, estimation of Emission Load & future projections, incorporate atmospheric dispersion models in pollution dispersion / dilution, initiate pollution index levels breports, direct & indirect ecological damage and environmental damage by these emissions in urban environment, direct and indirect health impacts, share in the global climate change & warming by this region, revise Emission Standards for various sources including vehicular emissions, policy options for adoption or Action Plans, calculation of effect of abatement and control measures, establishment, improvement and implementation of air pollution regulations, regulations for development of NAAQS / IAQS, Emission Standards for sources, assess the efficiency of these measures in reducing these pollution levels , enhanced public awareness, and for transport sector (which is the main urban air polluter) better traffic flow and transport management / planning in the urban areas (which has not been given due importance until now in Pakistan), change of technology including fuel substitution & conversion to less polluted fuels (e.g. low Sulphur / Lead fuels, CNG), development/enforcement of vehicular... eing…
