In Utopia there is a constant argument between Thomas More and Raphael Hythloday about communal property versus private property. Thomas More agrees with Friedman that private property is an important part of society and that a country or society without it would not prosper. Raphael Hythloday disagrees and thinks that private property is the source of corruption and that our countries should be focused more on communal property and that that is the way of the future. In Utopia, Hythloday explains that due to all property being communal, Utopia in turn lacks many of the problems and troubles that plague a country or society.
