Introduction
I want welding on pipelines and oil rigs to be my career. The reason I selected this job is because I like to weld and the pay is really good. I would like to start my own company and hire my own workers. If I am able to open my own company I will be able to make more money and be able to retire at a young age.
Career-related information In order to be a welder you must have a high school diploma and appropriate certification. The bureau of labor statistics states that “A high school diploma or equivalent combined with technical and on-the-job training is typically required to become a welder, cutter, solderer, or brazer.”(Welders, Cutters, Solderers, and Brazers). It is important to have experience because you can seriously

“Some welding positions require general certification in welding or certification in specific skills, such as Certified Welding Inspector or Certified Robotic Arc Welding.” Being skilled in the welding field is very important to you and everyone around you. If you're not experienced someone could end up seriously hurt.
Technology Recent changes There is a lot of new Technology in welding. “ Engineers pass plans and projects to mid-management personnel who must carry out the planning, organization, and delivery of manufacturing projects. Emphasis is on developing skills needed to lead projects and interface with engineering and development teams.” With proper technology we can create new things that were not possible before; the changes we make in the future will be amazing.

Conclusion My chosen career will affect me with not only life skills ,but also growing up and being on my own.My opinion has changed on this job because as I did more and more research on a career in welding. I noticed that I no longer want to become a welder. I may change my mind again. My next steps in life are to find a job I will enjoy doing. I may go to college and get a couple of
