Week 4th DQ 1

Before implementing new procedure nurses need to verify many things with their health care facilities and follow the states low for safe practice. When implementing something new many factor nurses need to follow. First, nurses scope of practice and standards of practice must be checked with ANA. Second, State low and regulation about nurses new procedure that fall within nurses scope of practice for implementing. Third, most important and vital information nurses need to verify with their institutional policies and procedures, and it can be different by institution to institution sitting. Forth, nurses need to consider self determination to their patients. That include nurses skills, judgment and expertise should fall with nurses scope of practice to provide safe, quality of cares to their patients. Fifth, nurses are liable to implementing new procedure, so nurses need to know that it is safe for patients? It been used before and their some evidence to prove that it is safe to practice on patients. All other things are very important too, but most important part is patients safety. This days health care institutional are rapidly introducing new technology, so nurses need to advance their skills and get to know new procedure. All the procedure should fall within nurses scope of practice and according to institutional policies and procedures. After all the factor clear up all nurses in that institution should educated their nurses to get familiar with that procedure.
