Was the Civil War Inevitable?

Civil War
The civil war was the one and only war Americans had with themselves. Unlike the other wars, where America fought for their countries freedom or to assist other countries in need, the civil war was Americans against Americans; North against South. Eventhough, the civil war was an all American war, each side had a reason, and a purpose of why they fought in this war. Now, centuries later, we come to the question "Was the Civil War Inevitable?". I will go through the reasons of why the civil war began and it will be answered as it is read.
We can start from the beginning, when American first started to come together. The people of New England, left England mainly for religious reasons. The people were called Puritans. The Puritan were very educated and they based their ways of living by their religious beliefs. The Puritans felt the only way they could protect their congregation was to move to America ( Faragher 41). When the Puritans arrived to America, they had to learn to farm, fish, and to build their own homes (Faragher 42). On the other hand, The Virginia Ordinance was very different from New England altogether. The people that came from England to Virginia, came to Virginia for wealth. The goal of these people were to find gold and other things that would bring them wealth. They came with mostly men and indentured servants. Indenture servants work their debt off by working in the tobacco field. Because of such harsh treatment and hard labor, many indentured servants tried to escape, taking the risk of being caught and having their serving time doubled ( Faragher 40). Because more indentured servant were either freed from their or escaped, this introduced the use of slaves. They now used slaves that they purchased, to do what the indentured servants were doing. The slaves were different from indentured servants, because they were owned and they could not be free. The labor from the slaves help
