Vincent Van Gogh's The Art Of Night
My black out poem titled “The Art of Night” came from an article I cut out from The Washington Post newspaper. The article discussed the movie “Loving Vincent,” which goes over the short life of the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, quickly grabbed my attention. I have always had an interest in art, especially Van Gogh’s, so my word choice focused around art and how I see it. Searching for words that fit together helped me discover the theme, which is that art is puzzling/ a mystery. Everyone will see a piece of art differently from another person no matter how simplistic or complex a piece may appear to be. To give a better image of my idea of a painted night sky, I used dark colors for the background and white stars scattered around. The

    In the novel “Night” by Elie Wiesel, Elie Wiesel tells the story of his life in the Auschwitz concentration camps. Mr. Wiesel was born in the town of Sighet, Transylvania and was only a teenager when he and his family were taken from their home he called the “ghetto”. Although they all had been worn by Moishe the Beadle, about his terrible story in which no one believed him and though he was a mad man. Once in the train arrived and it was there; soon it was Elie Wiesel and his family turn to get, on lying down was not an option or even siting down. The air was little and there was little food and thirst became a big problem as so did the heat. Then the train stop in Kaschau in Czechoslovakia and a German officer stepped in and told all the Jews in the train that they were know under the German army authority and to give them all there gold and silver. The Jews where treated like dogs and threaten to get shot if anyone went missing. After that the train continued to its destination, with in the train there was a woman named Mrs. Schachter a woman in here fifties started to cry out “Fire! I see a fire! I see a fire!” she did this many times and the Jews got tired of it after a while so the beat her, so she would stop crying. Once they arrived to their final destination Auschwitz she scram fire for the last time, but this time there was fire and shortly everyone had to get off the train the air smelled like burning flesh. After getting off Elie Wiesel was separated from his mother and sisters with he never saw again but stayed with his father. After separated Elie Wiesel saw as children and old where being burned and hoped it was all just a dream. Elie Wiesel was close to being thrown in the fire pit, but instead him and his father where forced to run to the showers and then to Block 17 where…

    The Holocaust changed the lives of many people and survivors and had many adverse effects. Some began to question their faith in their beliefs and even questioned their god. They pondered upon the thought of how God could sit idly by and allow the atrocious actions committed within their own homeland be unjustified.     Elie Wiesel wrote the novel “Night”. This novel was based on his experiences as a Jewish child during the holocaust. Wiesel was one of four children, he had 2 older sisters and 1 younger sister. They grew up in Romania with their mother and father. Their identity was completely confiscated from them.Elie worked hard and remained as healthy as he possibly could or could seem so him and his father would last the constant checks. Elies father was nearly dead at the end but could only manage to keep him alive for so long before the guards realize he was not useful. Elies father was killed two weeks before American troops invaded aushwitz and slowly saved the remaining Jewish prisoners.
