Pico Bolivar is the highest point of the Venezuelan Andes at 16,427 feet and it is located in the eastern branch, the Cordillera de Merida The Sierra de Perija, the western branch, extends along the border with Colombia. The coastal plains includes the Orinoco’s delta which is Venezuela’s longest river at 1,600 miles long. The coastal mountain system consists of two ranges that are parallel to each other, the Coastal Range and the Interior Range. This area makes up 3% of the national territory and contains the majority of Venezuela’s population. I live in Los Samanes, a little community located in Caracas-Venezuela, and like many other places, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Regarding to advantages, Los Samanes is a secured location, mainly because it is far away from the city’s center, with a beautiful landscape that includes big trees and animals – e.g. big mammals like sloths and marvelous birds - that gives you the sensation to be one with the nature. According to the general opinion, Los Samanes is well known by their neighbors, which are always working and helping whenever you need them. In a tropical country, sometimes it could be very cold and rainy with a poor connection with public transportation. To get there, you have to take some buses and it could drive you crazy.…

There are so many countries that don’t treat women equal to men, mostly because of their traditions but also for financial benefit as in China with the female dominated workforce. However they don’t have the majority in the workforce because of women rights but on the contrary to exploit both women and men. China is not the only country that “prefer” women to work in factories many countries do this including Mexico. Once again I had never paid attention to the maquiladoras that are just across the border where I have family members that work in some of them.…
