Utopian Society Today

In an ideal utopian world, there would be no hatred, segregation, or conflict. People would respect one another. People would accept one another. Every person would have equally opportunities and freedoms. For these reasons, today’s society is far from utopia. Since the dawn of civilization, there has been extensive conflict between groups of people. In order for society to become closer to an optimal world, everyone will need to learn to coexist no matter race, gender, sexuality, or religion. The main issue that is driving humanity farther and farter away from utopia is that minorities are not being treated equally to the rest of the population. Another problem bringing our world farther away from utopia is racism. Yes, racism has improved. Slavery no longer exists, schools are no longer segregated, and people of color are no longer forced to sit in the back of the bus. These are major advancements in society, but there are still extensive changes that need to happen. People of color are continuing to be discriminated against everyday. In a utopian society, black people would never be casually referred to as “thugs”, or get their life taken away from them simply because of the color of their skin. In addition to racism and religious conflict, sexuality and gender plays a major role the modern dystopian world. Majority of the public does not respect the LGBTQ community. When society spends all their time forcefully putting this group down, they are not efficiently working out the problems that are tearing the world apart. There are people that put all their valued time and energy into making sure minorities live an abhorrent life. The hatred for homosexual people mainly stems from religion. As stated before, if people realized that religion is for love,
