I have identified some of the H&S legislation that has to be followed in the Health and Social care setting
Health and safety at work act1974, Management of H&S at work regulations 1999, Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992,(RIDDOR), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH), Food and Safety act 1990, General Food hygiene Regulations 1995,Disabilaty Discrimination Act 1995 mental health Act 2007 and Health Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992.
This is just some examples there is more.

If an accident or sudden illness occurs follow appropriate policies and procedures, by ringing the correct emergency service and contact your manager for further advice. If its sickness and Diarrhoea, anti back all handles and sterilise all cutlery and, clean to stop infection spreading keep client away from others let any potential visitors know of the illness. Limit the staff to stop spread of illness.

Always ensure that your own health and hygiene does not pose a threat to others in your work setting, you should always be clean well presented in the required uniform, follow infection control i.e. hand hygiene and personal protective equipment and that your personal health is well and free from disease or infection.
