What happens when people fall in uncontrollable love? In William Shakespeare's romantic comedy, midsummer night's dream, it is proven that love is blind. In relation to the play, "Love is blind" because people fall in love without seeing the other people disinterest, it stops people seeing people for who they are, and love lead to people being overly trusting. Love is blind because it takes away people's ability to understand and communicate to recognize a “no” and disinterest in pursuing a relationship. The relationship is between two parties of people. So both sides have to be actively participating. However, the love between Demetrius and Helena at the beginning of the book is one-sided. Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius does not have
Her love is blind, because when the enchantment was removed; her true impression of Bottom was only disgust. This love is caused by the enchantment of the nectar. The love makes Titania blind enough to declare “I love thee” And it physically took away Titani judgement of appearances. After the enchantment wore off, Titania said: O, how mine eyes do loathe his visage now!”(P69). This shift of belief is caused by the reversal of the enchantment. When Titania was in love, she became blind to the “This hateful imperfection of her eyes”(P68) Titania love to Oberon is blind. It is proven, when her lover deceives and tricks her, she still loves him back. A healthy relationship needs to be built on mutual respect. However, love makes people blind and ignorant to the lack of respect and signs of abuse. Oberon makes Titania fall in love with a wild beast for the sole purpose to humiliate her, and take away her servant boy. But she still loves Oberon after knowing exactly what happened. This love further stopped Titania from taking back the Indian boy.
