Twenty First Century: The Boomers And The Millennials

In the twenty first century, people are classified into various categories. Two of the categories are, the Boomers and the Millennials. Boomers are the group of people born during the Baby Boom, which occurred from the mid 1940s to the early 1960s. In the 1950s, the United States experienced a marked economic growth with an increase in manufacturing and home construction. In this decade America had recovered from the Great Depression due to the rise in industry during World War II. People who lived in the cities moved to the suburbs and lived in independent houses. There were more white collar jobs than blue collar jobs during this period. There was also an increase in the overall birth rate of the country, hence, the people born during this period of prosperity were
They say that because their children are not doing well and on top of that they don’t seem to express their feelings. However, the millennials are not lazy and self-centered most of the time. They are just stubborn and optimistic. Millennials tend to be optimistic and progressive because in such a devastating world optimism is the only thing that can keep them going. No matter how bad the economy is millennials are still determined to fulfill their’s and their parent’s goals.The millennials do not express their feelings to their boomer parents because they are optimistic, and the parents see the lack of expression and opening up as being selfish and shallow. Boomers contributed in political, economic and social aspects of America in the twentieth century , and now it’s time for the boomers to retire and we, the millennials, to take over America. It is up to the boomers to decide whether we are good for the current generation or not, but, as millennials we are not lazy and self-centered.
