Trip To Hawaii
Have you ever been so nervous you were sweating uncontrollably? The methodical and repetitive whizzing of spherical objects speeding over your head at unimaginable speeds. Then you stand up, not knowing what awaits you. All of a sudden, you look like an eccentric christmas tree on steroids. Or have you ever been so fascinated by the culture around you that you end up walking into a palm tree? If not, Hawaii is the place for you. I had never experienced either of those feelings until I went to Hawaii for the first time. Two days before the start of spring break, the excitement was overwhelming. While we were preparing for career day in sixth grade, I was too excited to pay attention, and I accidentally signed up to listen to a nuclear engineer(boring). When I got home, I packed everything I needed and went to bed an hour early, hoping Hawaii would be here faster if I went to sleep earlier. But I was an idiot and didn’t think about how I was not going to be able to sleep, so I sat in the bed until one o’clock in the morning. Three hours later, it was time to get up and go to the airport. We were on the plane in less than four hours. When we were …show more content…
But we had nothing else to do, and it was almost dark so we couldn’t swim, so we decided to stay and wait. While we were waiting, my phone died. And as a teenager, if my phone dies, I run out of patience very fast. Then I saw it. The most glorious thing to see while you’re bored. A pamphlet shelf. There were hundreds! Some were for shows, some were for beaches, but the one that caught my eye most of all was the one for Hawaiian paintball. I picked it up and flipped through it. It seemed pretty cool, so i brought it back to my dad who said he would take my brother and I the next day. When the wait was over for the food, we ate like kings. It seemed like every food in Hawaii was ten times bigger than it is on the

Back in the summer of 2013 my family was deciding on what vacation we should go on. It took us until July to finally decide where we wanted to go and we chose San Diego. At the time I didn’t know where San Diego was and frankly I thought we were going to Florida. When we got in the car and started to drive I was very confused on the fact we were not going to an airport. On the eight hour car ride there it took my family around an hour and a half to explain that we were not going to Florida.…

People are led to believe that Hawaii is paradise. Living is easy, weather is nice all year around, and the locals are friendly. This may be true but yet many still choose to move away from the islands to start a new life in the mainland. Some may say this is odd, but that is before they understand the reasoning behind it. It is difficult to support a family financially well in Hawaii, traffic is one of the worst in the country, and the crime for drugs is huge.…

Hawaii attracts many tourists per year because of its history, geography, and entertainment. This state is known for its many islands, volcanoes, and climate as well. When I think about Hawaii all I imagine is standing on the beach overlooking the ocean getting hit with the nice warm breeze hearing laughter and seeing smiles. Since “Hawaii is one of the most isolated places on Earth” it makes vacationing there completely stress and worry free, because you are far away from home and nothing on your mind but having a great vacation (Neri p.4).…

Another reason I want to live in Hawaii is because everything is much calmer. Living in Hawaii consists of a “laid-back lifestyle” (Lovic). Life in Hawaii is peaceful. Islands function slower than any other place to live because they are “far away from many distractions” (“Pros and Cons”). Being far from distractions is calming because the “busy” lifestyle in Chicago is completely the opposite of the “laid back lifestyle” in…

In seventh grade I wanted to tryout for volleyball. I was very nervous because I had never played it before. I was super happy when I found out all my friends and I made the team. We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. I sat in bed thinking I had once again gotten lucky and we had no game, I was wrong. We were…

However, that did not materialize because our relatives and other family members ultimately Hawaii migrants too. Until one day, they all decided that all family members should move there also because of its great weather and better living condition compared to the Philippines.…
