Transgender Bathroom Research Paper

Everybody has to use the bathroom at some point so why would you stop someone from doing just that. This is exactly what people are trying to do to Transgender people. Not only are transgender people harassed verbally and physically but people are also trying to get laws passed to force them into using the bathroom that matches the gender they were assigned at birth. As someone who is gender fluid and has many transgender friends I understand what it can be like using a public bathroom. There is always someone there to tell you that you do not belong that and that you're not really the gender you are. Not only are transgender people being verbally abused in bathrooms there are also cases of physical abuse as well. There have been transgender people killed just because people can't learn to accept them. I have had friends who refuse to use a public restroom because they fear what could happen to them. No one deserves to live in fear of what could happen to them just because someone does not believe that they are who they are. Recently Tennessee tried to pass a law that would force transgender people to use the restroom that went with the gender that they were assigned at birth. One option is to create more gender neutral bathrooms. These are restrooms that any gender can use. This will stop people from being able to tell transgender people that they are in the wrong bathroom. Another option would be to educate people more on what transgender people go through. If we do this more people will understand them and will see how much damage it does mentally and emotionally to them when they are told that they need to use a different bathroom and that they do not belong. Educating people will also help children and teens who are struggling with their gender identity come to terms with who they truly
