Sitting at the top of the thriving company Zappos, is CEO Tony Hsieh. Hsieh started early in his entrepreneurial career when he co-founded Link-Exchange, which he later sold to Microsoft making Tony a millionaire by age twenty-four. After parting ways with his first successful path, he hopped on board with Zappos and worked his way up the leadership pipeline. Once he became the CEO, the company started excelling. Within the first decade of Hsieh taking the role of chief executive officer, Zappo’s soared in sales from 1.6 million dollars to over 1 billion. As outstanding as those numbers are, Hsieh made an even greater impact at Zappos. LinkExchange served as an advertising network. This lasted for about two years before Hsieh sold it to Microsoft for 265 million dollars. Just three years after graduating, Tony Hsieh was already a multi-millionaire entrepreneur. But he wasn’t done there. After selling his first company, he co-founded an investment firm known as Venture Frogs. Once he and his partner got Venture Frogs going, he added more to his plate by becoming a part of the Zappos team. Once he became CEO of Zappos, the board of the community started losing hope in his plans. In fear of being fired, he sold Zappos to Amazon but remains on the team and continues to carry a strong impact. Tony Hsieh did not want to fall into those habits and dared to be different. By taking the less traveled path and direction of leading a business, he is not only one of the most successful entrepreneurs, but also a very influential and looked upon individual.     To his younger sister, Rachel Gentz, Joel Gentz was a nerd in high school. He was a member of the marching band, and more specifically the drum line.
