To Kill a Mockingbird Report

You may ask, “What is the big idea behind To Kill a Mockingbird?”. This report is going to show you what I think the big idea is behind this amazing book. Harper Lee did a great job writing this book and it shows how much time she put into it. There are many meaning and sayings in this book that mean a lot to me and other people as well.
This novel teaches you a lot about how things were in those times and how those things still apply today. When you read the part about Tom Robinson’s case, you would think that he is an innocent man and the jury would see that as well. They learned that Boo was the one leaving gifts such as gum and pennies for them in the hole of the tree before it got filled in. They were also saved by Boo when Mr. Ewell attacked them. Boo sprang into action and saved the kids by stabbing Mr. Ewell with a knife. It’s ironic that Boo was the one that saved them because the kids were so afraid of him before due to the stories they heard.
Finally, the most important lesson in the entire story. Atticus Said to Jem “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view. Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”. This statement is very powerful and essentially is the main theme of the entire Book. It is saying that you don’t know a person’s exact situation until you are in their position. For example, Boo Radley. The children didn’t know that Boo was a good person. They were very quick to think bad things about Boo as soon as they heard his name. Another example would be Atticus during Tom
Robinson’s case. Many people in the town were scolding him and being hateful because he was defending a black man. Through all of the insults, Atticus kept it together and did his absolute best to defend Tom because he knew the truth. He
