1.) Berkey & Gay Furniture uses quite a few different methods to play on consumer's anxieties and prejudices. They infer that they are a way to look above, “Malucios” or those breaking the prohibition act during that time period. The furniture store plays on parents fears for their children and creates a link between keeping their children out of trouble with the law by having a lavishly furnished house. This link was not an easy gap to bridge, but they did a good job reasoning that if a younger person who is most susceptible to the lure of restricted alcohol is unashamed of his home, he will chose staying home to entertain guests rather than venture out. Parents are made to think that if their child has a home that is, “embarrassing,” to them, they will go to places like, “Malucios.”…

To begin with, upon visiting SCR website I find that the SCR website accompanies the Shelly Cashman Series Systems Analysis and Design text and is a fictitious company used as the focus of a case study. Upon further review of the site, moving through the bulleted list, first entered was the Data Library. This has subsections for SCR Functions and Organization which lists committees and group members; SCR Training Records section has two sample months of training records that includes the company, contact person, phone, title of training course, etc, then there is a JAD Session Example, which is basically a written summary of the discussion of the joint application design meeting that is to launch TIMS (Training Information Management System). Sample of Questionnaire Results was noted, which was brought up during the JAD session meeting to send to a sample of former students and prospective students in order to determine what people liked and to find out what could be improved for future courses. There was also the Summary of Cost-Benefit Data, which is a data table of developmental costs, operational costs for the first year of operation, and revenue estimates, finally the SCR Network which shows a diagram of the new system which the committee members were really keen on.…

“Why couldn’t Grandpa tell me that in English? He knows I don’t understand Creole that well,” I said. My mother stopped in front of our house and turned to me. “We are not American and English is not our language. Grandpa told you that phrase in Creole because it is the language of our ancestors, who spoke that tongue during slavery.” Creole was their language, it was what they took seriously, it was a part of their blood and nothing could take that away--Not even English. Creole was their history and it is their future. As my mom told me the history behind her language I was amazed because I did not know that phrase was so…

This world is full of crimes and war. There isn’t one country out there that doesn’t have some sort of confliction with other countries. Is it normal? Is it ok to be committing all these war crimes? Honestly there isn’t any reasonable answer for that. Several people argue differently about the situation on war crimes. The author of “Thinking about Torture”, also film critic for National Review, and author of many other books; Ross Douthat talks about what he thinks about war crimes, which he believes they are not correct but the war crimes could be justified. In the other hand the author of “Committing War Crimes for the ‘Right Reasons’”, Glenn Greenwald who was also a constitutional law and civil rights lawyer has his own opinion. He believes war crimes are not acceptable for any reason.…

If someone asks about the best methods of Tafsir, we reply that the best method is to explain the Qur'an with the Qur'an itself. Litríocht na Nua Ghaeilge

Roimh teacht an Chríostaíocht sa chúigiú haois d’úsáidtear struchtúr scríbhneoireachta ar a dtugtar ‘Oghaim’. Chleachtaí an coras scríbhneoireachta seo idir 300AD agus 600AD. Tá na taifid scríofa is luaithe de teanga Ceilteach in Éirinn le fáil ar inscríbhinní cloiche scríofa i script oghaim. Is é an t-ogham an coras scríbhneoireachta is sine sa tSeán Ghaeilge.“ The ogam inscriptions ar crucial to our understanding of Irish phonology since they span the period of fundamental changes in the language, such as lenition, vowel affection and the loss of final syllables, e.t.c”. (Williams, Ní Mhuiríosa (1979). Traidisiún Liteartha Na nGael. Báile Átha Cliath: Dundalgan Press. 62.) Is chéim ar leith an oghaim i bhforbairt litríocht na Gaeilge agus is ón oghaim seo a d’fhorbair litríocht na Gaeilge go dtí an áit a bhfuil sé faoi láthair.…
