After that question, we attempted to lighten things up, so I asked her to describe herself to me in one word. Vicky labeled herself as a problem solver, and labels her common sense and ability to prioritize as her best traits that allow her to do her work diligently. Vicky’s prioritization is what stood out to me from the moment I began working with her, as in one morning she had to complete a presentation, reach out to three clients, meet with Carrey, the supervising attorney, and give me instructions within four hours. When I brought up this observation to Vicky, she said that she tries to “prioritize tasks and put into perspective that people’s lives are at stake. Real people”, but overall thinks she could grow in that area of her work.…

She is portrayed as a wealthy woman “in a white suit with a fluffy bodice, necklace and earing of pearl, white gloves and hat…” (5). She resembles an embellished white moth. The fact that she is forced to live with her younger sister Stella and her domineering husband truly shows that Blanche is in a truly desperate situation. Her overall character is depicted as a traumatized woman that is in complete desolation. Experiences such as witnessing her family on a “...Long parade to the graveyard” (21). Being forced to live with your family until their tragic demise would emotionally and mentally torment anyone. She lives inside of her own world in which she…

The teacher gave Henry an assignment to review the “SMAT” object box. Henry repeated the name and went to grab the materials on the shelf. He carried the box with his thumbs on top and four fingers underneath. He put the box on top and the lid to the left of the table rug. He took objects from the box and stated their names in a soft voice. He would say “Monkey, turkey…” and put them on the lid. Henry grabbed and examined an object and said, “This is star. S-star.” He placed it in the correct column under the letter S. He then continued to sort the rest of the materials. Writer, Truman Capote, created a goldmine when he wrote the book (turned film) Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Both the book and film center around a 19 year old young woman named Holly Golightly who lives in New York City. Golightly has a high spirit and bright smile, but within she is lonely, and yearning for the love that she needs. The film has a few differences from the book such as supporting characters and scenes, the description of the narrator’s feelings for Holly and the endings which makes it easy to say that the movie was overall better than the book.…

In the vignette “What Sally Said,” the reader can infer that sally is getting beaten by her father, and she is lying about it at school to protect him because she really loves him in spite of his abusive behavior. On page 92, it states, “He never hits me hard, she says her mama rubs lard on all the places where it hurts. Then at school She’d say she fell.” This reveals that Sally minimizes the severity of her father’s abuse by downplaying to the situation to Esperanza. In addition to downplaying the abuse to Esperanza, Sally completely lies about the abuse at school. For instance, on page 92, it says,” But Sally doesn’t tell about that time he hit her with his hands just like a dog, she said, like if I was an animal.” It clearly states…
