Tiffany Dag Recommendation
I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation to express my support for Tiffany Dang in her journey to Graduate School. Tiffany was introduced to the Norooz Clinic Foundation and me in the summer of 2014 and has dedicated her time to us ever since. She has helped my team and me on numerous projects, including three of our Unlocking Stigma Fairs, which are large-scale community mental health events funded by the Orange County Health Care Agency.

Tiffany’s many tasks at the Norooz Clinic Foundation include academic research, data analysis utilizing IBM SPSS, event planning and organization, acting team leader, surveyor, and mental health advocate. She is able to demonstrate her success in accomplishing these tasks due to her diligence

I interviewed Joanna Hawkins. She works in a private organization for dialysis, called Fresenius Medical Care. It is in Birmingham, Alabama. She has been working with this agency for 12 years. The primary tasks she completes everyday are, going around to all the 24 chairs that they have patients at and tell them hello and ask them how they are doing. She will then ask them if they need anything, whether that be need for transportation, need for medications, need for help with their home environment, or need for general support. She works with three different clinics, so she only gets to see the patients at each clinic once a week. When she talks to each patient she must make sure she takes good notes, that way she can help each patient with…

In the MBA-920 course in the March 2015, I applied the organizational change and reform in the U.S. health care system with strategically planning how to develop my role as a DNP advocate. According to a study by Greenburg et. al,2015, the estimated cost of healthcare for individuals with depression has increased to 210.5 billion in 2010. June 2016, I joined a behavioral health integration pilot within the clinic that also involves six other facilities with other healthcare professionals and community leaders. This project goal is to decrease the overall burden of access and stability of mental health patients across Oklahoma with providing a database to identify at risk patients across…

This past Monday, October 24, 2016, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the St. Joseph Center. I had been the ST. Joseph’s Center three years ago as a freshman to do volunteer work. Unfortunately, I was unable to do much as a volunteer, and was not there for very long to really appreciate what the center had to offer. I was very excited to go back, and get a more hands on experience. When we first arrived, we were briefed on the history and set-up of the center, and about each of the residents we would be working with. I was amazed at how much the center has expanded over the years, and all the services that they provide. The center appeared to be very unique, and made me wonder why I had never heard of any other similar programs elsewhere. Growing up Staten Island of NYC, where some of the best medical services are available, I can confidently say there is so such service available on Staten Island. This really got me thinking, and made me realize how important St. Josephs Center is not just for Scranton, but how important and influential it can and should be for everyone.…

My research with COURI entails me to conduct interviews out in the homeless community in collaboration with the Opportunity Center. I conduct these open ended interviews in order to gather data about chronic homelessness with the ultimate goal to improve and implement programs for homeless individuals in the border community. In the other hand, my field placement at Las Palmas Medical Center has demonstrated me the arduous work that social workers do on a daily basis in order to meet the standards of care for their patients. In this setting I perform all kinds of activities such as assessing individuals who present psychosocial triggers as well as set them up for the required services for the care they need after the hospital…
