Thomas Jefferson: The Third President Of The US
Thomas Jefferson, the third president, did so much for the country. He got this country a lot of money and made a lot of the money with cotton. Thomas did have slaves, but that could be a good thing because how else would he get the money to buy the rest of the USA.
Thomas Jefferson became president of the USA in 1801. He was 60 when he became president. He had a ton of money and a lot of kids. He also had 7 sisters and was very huge on slavery. He almost didn't become our president do to Aaron Burr, so the things he did wouldn’t have happened.
Thomas Jefferson died in 1826. He was in his 80’s when he died. His father died when he was just a teenager. Thomas Jefferson got rich when cotton became famous mostly because he used slaves to make all of the cotton. Then they made a cotton machine so he needs more. He was very well know as the people’s president. He bought the majority of the USA. When he bought it we had all the states, but Hawaii and Alaska. This was known as the Louisiana purchase. The Louisiana purchase happened in 1803 and this is one of the main reasons why we know Jefferson.
