They All Just Die Poem Summary

I chose to write about this poem as a result of how I felt about the poem. I was able to identify with it more and was able to understand what the poet was trying to communicate. I was fond of what the poet was saying about life being valuable and how he is trying to tell us that life is not empty or all we do is just die, but that there is meaning to life and that we should try to leave a legacy that could help others through life. This relates to the world we live in for the reason that people are always trying to find a reason to live and people from all walks of life always ask what the purpose of life is.

This usage of imagery is also a simile by the cause of the poet comparing our heart beat to being like a drum beat. Another example of imagery is in the poem when the poet says “Be not like dumb, driven cattle!”( line 19). This part of the poem uses a simile to say that we shouldn’t be like cattle to help convey the point he is trying to make about the purpose of life.
The poet uses 4 line stanzas and has 9 stanzas. The poem use a rhyme scheme of AB-AB throughout the entire poem.These all contribute and enrich the flow of the poem , how we read the poem, and how we interpret the poem. The poet is incorporating an upbeat and courageous tone which can be seen in the poem when it says “Be a hero in the strife!”( line 20).this guides his message across and to motivate us to live our lives with purpose. Throughout the poem the poet repeats life,death, and time to also help gets his point
