Theme Of Trust And Betrayal In Macbeth
In Macbeth, trust and betrayal are the most themes that are shown throughout the play.I know this as king Duncan is shown as a trust worthy and a loyal character.The reader know that Duncan is a over-trusting character as he uses the phrase,'A absolute trust'.The word,'Absolute' shows he is trusting.However, the more people king Duncan trusts; the more king Duncan got betrayed.Shakespeare exaggerates Duncan's personality as he says,'More is due,than more than all can pay'.The phrase,'More' tells the reader even though Duncan has been betrayed by the previous thane of Cawdor-the trust is still there for Macbeth.Duncan's trust for Macbeth- was shown as unlimited since he was his,'cousin'.I know that Duncan and Macbeth are related as he quotes,'O
