Children often hear the saying that making mistakes is the process of learning, so it is crucial to understand to never give up on one’s dreams. Contrarily, as adults, we begin to easily be susceptible to feeling insecure and defeated by life, when the objectives which we are pursuing, unfortunately are not able to be fulfilled. Often times, I find myself in similar situations, where I do not make the effort to try and step out of my comfort zone, as I rise the question in my head, “What is the point?” For further explanation, as Sebastian has mentioned, I am not mentally able to continuously be motivated to work harder and push myself to improve, as in my perspective, it is not like as if I am going to get anything out of it. During the childhood of Winfrey, unfortunately she was a victim of many accounts of sexual abuse/molestation by those men which she trusted, and valued; her cousin, uncle and a family friend. Furthermore, she became pregnant at the young age of 14, only to soon realize that her child had a lifespan of a sheer 2 weeks. Additionally, growing up as a child in a racially discriminatory time, formed many situations as she, like many other, were constantly being objectified and not treated with the utmost respect. Nevertheless, with that said, the relentless effort and momentum inhibited within Winfrey did not escape into space, as she became an honors student in high school, awarded a scholarship to college and slowly organized a million-dollar television network named, OWN. Evidently, the quote stated by Krishna, is true as Oprah Winfrey and many others in similar situations, were able to transform themselves from rags to riches. In addition, the triumph which Terry Fox exemplified, despite being an individual struggling through cancer, began to raise awareness and donations for cancer research. Even though, this inspirational individual had passed away at the age of 23, he ran for 26 miles, with 300,000 participants and till now, has raised $24.7 million dollars. Fox’s legacy continues to be emphasized in this current society, where countless students are running to similarly accumulate money for cancer
