The Seven Commandments In George Orwell's Animal Farm
It has been two weeks after the transition from Animal Farm to Manor Farm and it was the middle of the night, the farm was dead silent. The only sound heard through the farm was a single howl from one of Napoleon’s dogs. For some this was normal, for some this was a signal. Animals snuck out of the farm into the a hole in the fence, one by one...

In the past, Snowball had actually found the dogs that Napoleon hid. Snowball had influenced 1 of the dogs and he quickly became a spy and a communicator for Snowball. Once Snowball had been banished from the farm, Clover kept in contact along with some animals like chickens, cows and cows. Of course, the dog would also help without anyone noticing. The dog would wander to the side of a fence behind Mr. Jones' house; sometimes at

As Napoleon was increasing in power it became harder for Snowball to think, but one thing was on his mind; the seven commandments. He planned on following these rules to the end, that meaning following a specific rule as well...

“No animal shall kill any other animal”

The last meeting was a quite something. Everyone had a discussion on how to rid of Napoleon without breaking the rule. Clover being eager to avenge Boxer, she started the brainstorm of questions.
“What if we used another farmer to overthrow Napoleon?” Clover asked. It would have been a good idea since the animals were half way to starvation from their rations making some animals unable to fight alongside Napoleon, but the idea also conflicted with two of the commandments. So even if there were animals that fought against Snowball he would not fight back.

“Whatever goes on two legs in an enemy” and “Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.

“What if we got help from the other farms?” a chicken asked.
Snowball replied, “Yes allies are important, but I do not want other animals to be injured by our own farm

Snowball is very inventive, he strives to make new innovations on the farm. For example, “He talked learnedly about field drains, silage, and basic slag, and had worked out a complicated scheme for all the animals to drop their dung directly in the fields, at a different spot every day, to save the labour of cartage.” Snowball comes up with these schemes by himself and presents them to the animals. He has read books…

George Orwell’s Animal Farm contains a particular character named Napoleon, a fierce-looking Berkshire boar. Napoleon is conniving, a plagiarist and manipulative. At a meeting, when the animals had to make a decision, Orwell showed Napoleon’s first conniving scheme, “Napoleon stood up and, casting a peculiar sidelong look at Snowball, uttered a high-pitched whimper...dashed straight for Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws” (Orwell 39). Here the dogs that Napoleon had raised attacked Snowball. It is apparent that Napoleon took these dogs to use them for what he needed, and at this time he needed to get Snowball out of the way. This action of attacking Snowball was very harmful, he only just barely…

The animals have heard so much about Snowball, they started making things up to be on Napoleon’s side. Things get worse when Snowball was accused of being a secret agent, “Snowball was in league with Jones from the very start! He was Jones’ secret agent, all the time” (57). Just when you think Snowball couldn’t get blamed for anything else he gets accused of being a traitor. Everyone in the farm hates him, but as soon as Squealer explains that accusations they all go insane wanting Snowball’s death. Napoleon got what he wanted all along, Snowball was one of the most hated animals, while he is being praised as the magnificent leader. After the day Snowball ran away everything changed, and could never go back to the way it was. Napoleon was in everyone’s mind, he could say anything and they will believe him that’s the reason they all detested Snowball so much. Snowball doesn’t mind any of it, at the end of the day he keeps returning to the farm to explore. Snowball is admirable because no matter how much hate he receives he keeps coming back. This reason clarifies why Snowball is my favorite character, he will never care about…

One of the many ways that napoleon stays in power is by animalism. Animalism is a government made up by the pigs, it has seven commandments but can be simplified into “Four legs good, two legs bad”. The pigs changed the commandments throughout the story so that the commandments will benefit them and only them. For example there is a rule that no animal shall drink alcohol, and the pigs took it upon themselves to change the rule while they were under the influence themselves! The new rule read(italics mean the new part) ‘no animal shall drink alcohol to excess” The pigs eventually changed all of the commandments into one rule which read” All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”.…

Even Boxer was vaguely troubled. He set his ears back shook his mane several times and tried to summon his thoughts. He puts work before thinking.…

The primary issue that Old Major has with the principle of working for man is that the animals do the work for no benefit, while Mr. Jones lives a life of excess. Old major is disgruntled by the fact that the man barks orders at his animals, and the animals remain malnourished and neglected even though they do the bulk of the man’s work. Soon after Napoleon and Snowball seize control of Animal Farm, as the animals work tenaciously in the fields, the pigs “…did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others” (50). The pigs’ integrity continues to decline as the story unfolds; the reader sees that they become more akin to the parasitic man which they had sought to be liberated from than diligent leaders they portrayed themselves to be. The pigs, who have taken the place of man at the farm, now begin to reap the benefits of the other animals’ work.…

The facts will be put together to compare Mr. Jones’s way of running the farm to Napoleon’s.…

Snowball is a kind character, while Napoleon is more sly. While fighting for the option to either build or not build the windmill, Snowball proposes a three day workweek (37), which shows that he wanted the other animals to have more free time so they could enjoy themselves. He also wants to help all the other animals become literate to some degree, which tells readers that he cares about everyone. On the other hand, Napoleon let his true self through when he started to change the commandments and change the other animal’s depictions of Snowball. After Snowball is chased out of the farm by Napoleon’s dogs, A rumor is begun that the windmill was actually Napoleon’s plan (42), and Squealer, Napoleon’s direct connection to the animals, further sets in the rumor by lying to the animals and ‘confirming’ it. Squealer also convinces all the other animals that Snowball has not fought in the Battle (57-58), and that sets Napoleon on an even higher pedestal., Boxer, the hardest worker on the farm, is sent off to a glue factory to be killed (83-84), which shows that Napoleon is a bit cold hearted. Snowball is the stronger leader because he has many traits that Napoleon does, but he does not lie or cheat the other animals. Snowball always has the best intentions for the farm in mind, while Napoleon can be quite selfish. Snowball does disappear mid-way…
