Gang Violence among youth has become a serious issue in the United States. The gang violence mainly takes place in schools and neighborhoods. The Community and parents need to ensure that this epidemic is decreased. There are many reasons that youth joins gangs. Our Citizens that see most youth that need encouragement from joining a gang should be generous and useful to talk to our youth. Citizens just don’t understand the teenagers in out century are under the influence to join gangs. The percentage of our youth joining gangs is increasing everyday. Throughout the United States, youth join gangs for protection enjoyment, respect, money, or because friends or family are in gangs. Youths have power and potential. Most have the courage to do the right thing. Most youth just don’t care how their throwing their life away. One day parents and citizens will notice that the youth that are in gangs are destroying our community. Gang violence percentage Many people in our society do not think that anything bad will ever happen to them. These people always hear about the issues and problems that are in the world today, but never think they will take place close to home. Gang violence is a major problem in our society today that takes place in many different areas of the world. If nothing is done soon, gang violence could take place in our neighborhoods . Gang violence is a big problem in our society today. MW Klein, a gang researcher, says that gangs are an aggregation of youths who perceive themselves as distinct, and that are viewed as distinct by the community. Klein also states that the gangs call forth a consistently negative image of themselves through their actions (Klein). To those involved in gangs however, gang membership provided a youth means of attempting to consolidate their gender identities (Douglas).
