The Road Not Taken and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening are both very good poems. I feel The Road Not Taken is one that reminds me of myself. I will tell you how they differ but at the same time are so much alike. In The Road Not Taken he lets us know that he has to make a decision. In order to make that decision he looks as far as he can to see what road he wants to take. He talks about how the path he took may have been the better on for him. It had been the one less traveled on. In Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening he also has a decision to make. He is walking with his horse in the woods. There are no other people around on this snowy night. He stops

Journeys illustrate the voyage between places of interest. They are demonstrated by expressing to the audience the hardship and mixed emotions you go through to the destination. Some examples of positive effects on those who embark on a mission are that it hinders them to get out of their comfort zone and helps them appreciate what they have, if a problem occurs while embarking on your voyage it will have to be resolved to make the mission you board on possible. The text analysed “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost and the type of text is poetry. My second choice of text was “The Wizard of Oz” by Victor Fleming the text type is a movie. Some people “dally in the shadows” and contemplate on which “road to take,” while other people “jump in head first.” “The Road Not” is a poem about the choice between two decisions the narrator must make. “To be of use” is a poem about how people in the world today need to stop sitting around, being lazy and go out, find work, and do it to the best of their abilities.“The Road Not Taken” and “To be of use” are two poems in which their meanings differ, one is about making a decision and the other is about getting the job done.…

Bodie Thoene once said, “What is right is often forgotten by what is convenient.” This quote means that most people forget the right way and just way to do things because of the easier and more convenient way. I agree with this quote because I have done it before many times, and have witnessed it many times. As an example, I once did something that was not kind, and when given the opportunity to be honest, I instead lied and covered up my wrong doing. I could have admitted my fault, but it was a more difficult option than to lie and ignore it afterwards. I have seen other people do this as well. Once I was with my friend and we were tossing a football around as we walked, and he tripped and bumped into a parked car. He left a small dent, and against my attempts to persuade him, he left the scene and didn’t say sorry to the owner. “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost supports the idea of this quote; however, “Untraveled Road” by Thousand Foot Krutch does not.…

Although innocence is cherished in children, it is of little use once each individual begins to approach adulthood. It is experience that gets one through adulthood. Experience is what allows one to be successful in life. Yet, experience is not simply experiencing life, but learning from one’s experience. Such is demonstrated in Toni Cade Bambara’s “The Lesson,” and Robert Frost’s, “The Road Not Taken”. “The Lesson” demonstrates a child’s shift from arrogance to learning a lesson she was resistant to learning through the experience that her teacher provided. “The Road Not Taken” demonstrates the value of having to put in effort to work one’s way through life to gain the experience necessary to be successful. Both involve the gain of experience through the loss of some degree of innocence due to the willingness to learn from personal and extraneous experiences. Experience instills wisdom by diminishing some of the naiveté brought about by innocence.…

"The Road Not Taken" centers on the concept of choice. The path that the speaker is walking on is splitting in two directions, and he has to decide which way to go. This path is not just in the woods, but also represents a decision in his life. Something in his life is changing, forcing him to make a choice. Yet he has a really hard time deciding and is full of doubts since he does not want to miss the opportunity and wants to choose the right road. Whether or not he has a reason why the choice he makes is better, he has to make it. And that choice changes his life.…

The poem starts off with the title “The Road Not Taken.” At first sight this title could be used as foreshadow that the following poem will be about making a mistake, not making the right choice (not taking the right road) therefore establishing a gloomy, mournful tone. It promises that the poem will be about a road not taken or the road that the author does take “because it was grassy and wanted wear.” Another possible foreshadow of the title is that in the poem it does not matter which road you take because as far as the author can see, on both roads, “Had worn them really about the same” and making a decision was quite an arduous task. A profound understanding of the poem will let the reader know that this title is a contradiction since really the author did not take any of the roads since he was still indecisive on which road to take. Though the title is contradictory to the subject of the poem it adds to the MAIN meaning of the poem. It excludes the poem from being interpreted as the author showing nonconformity (“I took the road less travelled by, And that has made all the difference”) which could only apply if the title was called “The Road Less Travelled.” A common, mistakenly chosen, main subject of the poem is regret. “And sorry I could not travel both,” “I kept the first for another day!” “I shall be telling this with a sigh.” True, there is a lot of regret within the poem and fear of making the wrong choice but it still misses the main idea of ACTUAL title which is “The Road Not Taken.” The title does play a considerably big part in the MAIN subject of the poem though it is still contradictory to the, on-the-surface, meaning of it. (It will be explained on the paragraph below).…

Frost maintained that all writing, including poetry, should be dramatic. He makes these two poems dramatic by suggesting that the speakers both have internal conflicts. In "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening" the speaker would like to stay by the woods much longer and enjoy the silence and the visual beauty. In "The Road Not Taken" the speaker would like to follow both roads but cannot do so because they "diverge" in entirely different directions.…

In the poem “The Road Not Taken”, the author talks about the mythological situation in which he had to choose one path out of the two choices. “Two roads are diverged in a yellow wood and there is no way that author can travel both the roads”, in the above line author is trying to explain that, in everyone in the human life has more than one choice to make in their lives which the author is referring as a ‘road’. The author refers to the path as any important decision in human being’s life that cannot be reversed for a long time. It could be a career decision or a decision like wedding that encourages us to follow a path for a long time till we fulfil the destination and the author doubted that if he could ever reverse the path and come to the same point again. Our everyday life is based on many decisions that we make from couple number of choices, there are times when we are attracted by more than one number of choices but we have to choose one at a time. During those times when we are attracted towards more than one roads, we have to predict the better outcome from both the choices and make a sound decision.…

In The Road Not Taken, Frost uses the paths as a metaphor for life in general. He says "Two roads diverge in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood." In these phrases, Frost is explaining that he is in a situation where he has to make a decision. This hints that some of us spend time deliberating over which would be the best decision when we are put in a situation where we have to choose one thing or the other. This also explains how the protagonist was procrastinating in which road to take, the road that was less travelled by or the road that has certainly been walked on. Atwood’s persona is experiencing issues that are very similar to each other. “I notice: that the hills which the eyes make flat as a wall, welded together”. The hills are obstacles and represent her emotional challenge. The personas problems and issues are very intricate and one issue of hers leads to another. Both personas seem to be having difficulties and although they are very different to one another, both are trying to reach a solution and overcome their…

    Road Not Taken Meaning

"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost is a poem that is often to simply interpreted by readers. The poem speaks of a common scenario in life. A traveler has come to a crossroads and is forced to make a choice on which "road", or path of life, he wants to choose. Both paths are inspected equally, and the traveler makes a choice and continues down the road. The common interpretation is that the author is happy with his choice. He decides to choose the road less traveled, and for that reason he is able to say "with a sigh" in his old age that he has chose the correct road, and that it has changed his life for the better. The decision he has made has paid off, he is not just a regular joe, he has lived an adventure by choosing the less traveled road. Upon closer reading, it appears the author doesn't know what the best road is, and is merely trying to convince others that the road he chose is best.…
