As a marketer for cell phones, it would be very easy to portray certain models of cell phones for the types of social classes. If someone sees a Kardashian with a certain type of phone, they want it. I would that sociological aspect to sell cell phones. A campaign similar to the American Express Card campaign. American Express used the initiative that high profile people used their card. This caused the “every day Joe” to want to carry the card too. This campaign was huge for them

Apple Inc. ranks second as the largest information technology company across the world (Bloomberg). Apple Inc., like other cell phone corporation, has supply and demand that is affected by a variety of factors. Businesses create products and offer services based on their customers’ demands, which can have an effect on the supply availability. The preference of the customer and the desire of the product that a company sells can affect the demand curve. As more customers want a product like the iPhone, the demand curve shifts to the right. Family, friends and colleagues can have a strong influence on a person’s choice of cell phone. When friends and family members have an iPhone, the consumer is more likely to purchase the phone because everyone else is getting it and speaking of the new cell phone. This type of “word of mouth” advertisement is free and beneficial to Apple Inc.…

The cell phone market is a massive market; some studies conclude that more than half of the United States has cell phone accounts (Simon, 2004). One attribute that defines the cell phone market is the idea of consumers giving up their land line use. Many individuals are now giving up their land line use in favor of using only a cell phone. This causes a large influx of customers into the market for cell phones. As technology continues to advance new types of cell phones are developed and marketed to different segments of the population. Now cell phones are available for business purposes and social purposes such as social networking, text messaging, or gaming, and the leader in cell phone sales is Apple Inc.…

An example is the LeBron James Beats headphones by Dr. Dre commercial on YouTube. It depicts LeBron James working out with the headphones and it also shows how people want to be like their famous athletes, which makes the consumers buy the product. LeBron also makes people think that if they wear the headphones they will make the consumers feel motivated and strong. LeBron James makes a lot of money by advertising for Dr. Dre, Kia, Powerade, and Nike. This is an escape from society to individuals because they want to be like their famous athlete, but it is hard because there are limited spots on a famous sport team. According to Jack, “America’s consumer economy runs on desire, and advertising strokes the engines…” (Solomon 167). In American society, everyone has a strong desire to buy products and especially when the new products come out. Individuals will want to buy all the new products because they are the ones that are trending in society. People are going to want something more for example the Beats headphones because a really good basketball player was advertising…

Can you imagine staring at a screen for four years? The average human will spend four years total staring at their phone, if not more (Doc 7). With the technological advancements our world grew to, our people followed in the growth. By doing so, our human emotions are being replaced with “like” and “dislike” buttons, and our brains only want to learn something if it’s within the first three links in a Google search engine. Students and parents should limit their use of cell phones because they isolate our emotions, they negatively affect our body and mind, and keep us seperated from relationships with people.…

Roughly 15 years ago a new product emerged onto the market. American consumers could now purchase and use telephones that would travel with them in their automobiles. However, these inventions were large, bulky, the size of a briefcase, and weighed roughly 10 pounds. Modern day Americans have found a place in their everyday lives for this once jaw-dropping invention. Americans have also demanded, and received, adjustments to these mobile telephones. Today it is possible to purchase mobile phones that are hardly the size of one’s palm for an extremely low cost to the consumer. The recent surge in use of cellular phones has changed the way most Americans communicate. Conversely the internet has done the same. However, cell phones have grown at a much more exponential rate and have become the absolute necessity for many people. Cell phones have had a sociological impact unparalleled by any technological innovation before them. Cell phones have been at the center of controversy and skepticism, but they have also been praised for usefulness and their inevitability. This technology has been focused upon as being the source of brain cancer, car accident, attention deficit disorder, and migraines. However it has also proven to be the tool of the most successful people in the business world. The thesis this paper proposes is that cell phones have had a negative social impact but are still quite inevitable.…

Paul Jordan's boss gave him an assignment where he was required to look at cell phone orders for the past three years. With this information, he is to use new planning techniques to project expected orders for the next 6 to 12 months, as well as advise his boss on what actions he should take for future production. The method we used to forecast the cell phone orders for the upcoming year is regression analysis; we calculated the linear regression formula from the given data, and then applied the formula to the later months. Based on the linear regression equation, we anticipate the cell phone industry to continue to grow over the next 12 months, but Jordan's boos should feel free to stray away from actual forecasts for certain months. Method II is used to forecast the cell phone orders for the upcoming year is seasonal analysis. Seasonal variations in data are regular up and down movements in a time series that relate to recurring events such as weather or holiday. Cell phones ads are very convincing in that they can get any of its viewers to buy their product and get them involved within their plan. This step is done by using one of the aspects and that is ethos. In order for these companies to get the consumer to buy this product, they have to be credible. Credibility is the most important aspect of these types of businesses because that is how their products are sold. Most of their credibility depends on the users who already belong to one of the companies. The cell phone companies rely on these people to tell others that they have the best cell phone plan and that the particular company that they have is better than any of its competitors. Another example of how credibility comes into place takes place in having personal/firsthand accounts within the ads/commercial.
