The Peacemaker Analysis
“Peace would result in an unstoppable power that others would want to emulate or become a part of, resulting in an indissoluble union” (Rice, 2008, p. 411) Dr. Kings peace movement was a perfect example of this. The people that were tired of being treated unfairly followed him. However, the people that didn’t want peace went against Dr. King eventually killing him. I think of peace is black and white because you either want to live in a worry-free and happy world with peace or live in a world of sadness and death without peace. The Peacemaker explained that having peace meant, “They would be without fear, sadness and anger”. (Rice, 2008, p. 411) There could be no way to be in between peace.
Once you establish peace there should be a healing process. War or any conflict could make a person be angry and have grief about the situation. “The Peacemaker told Awenwatha that he had shown him the way that we could heal the

Without laws people would be able to do as they please. The peacemaker restored the minds of the chiefs from violence to peace with the laws and institution they created together called Kaianerekoiwa. Imagine that there was no laws in place people would kill steal and destroy without any consequences. We wouldn’t have any peace and we would be angry and sad. In order for these laws to be implemented we need people like congress, judges and law enforcement to regulate them. “The Peacemaker told the warriors that those selected must treat the people with awareness of the buck deer that looks after the does and fawns. Those of good mind would wear the antlers of the deer when they were in council as a reminder of their responsibility to the people. (Rice, 2008, p. 412) In the present time this is what we call a democracy. This was created in 1787 Constitution.
The author’s main goal was to show that Constitution was adopted from the peace treaty of the

The great writer George Orwell once stated, “Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not." (Orwell). Knowles had this same struggle, and like Orwell used it to his advantage. The novels of John Knowles reflect his personal background and frequently explore the time period in which he lived through WWII. Throughout his life he reflected on his childhood, nurtured his love and ability of writing, and was rewarded for his great works in literature.…

    The Necessity of War

As society progresses, humans have started to question whether or not war is necessary or can ever be justified. The view held by most people post-World War II seems to be that war is needed and morally justifiable when it is waged as a response to injustice and as an attempt to bring peace to an area. This way of thinking suggests that the ends justify the means. However, this raises the question of whether we can have peace without having to resort to war or if we have no other choice but to use violence and destruction to suppress more violence and destruction. In short, is the use of war necessary to bring peace? People have responded to these questions in different ways. Some like Gandhi, Martin King Luther and John Lennon (to name a few) take a pacifist approach and believe that war is wrong no matter what the reason behind it is. According to them, the killing of human beings should always be avoided even if the end result is peace and the betterment of humanity. For them, the ends do not justify the means. They believe peace can be attained through non-violent methods like passive resistance instead of through war. Others take a more realistic approach. They bring up the example of Hitler and Nazi Germany and say that the optimism of pacifists would never have held up against such a brutal regime. Indeed, when we look back on it, war seems to have been the best solution for dealing with the Nazis. Most people would agree that, while war is a terrible phenomenon, sometimes we have no other choice but to use force to stop people from doing terrible things to each other. However, in my opinion the question of whether or not war can bring peace is a question wrongly asked. Its answer depends on what our definition of peace is. The definition of peace is not simply the absence of war or hostility but rather the desire to work harmoniously together with the people around us in order to live a life of…

The first reason I agree with Jody Williams’s definition is because peace has to be sustainable. In my opinion peace has to be able to maintained or kept going. For example, when I was in high school, my country ,Ethiopia, was preparing for its second election, and the governing party at the time and the opposing party were having disagreements on how the election campaign was going; as a result, riots started to break out in schools, in workplaces, and in marketplaces. Police started using lethal force to stop the riots and disturbances, so the numbers of casualties started to rise. This was the first time I felt no peace and wished for peace to come because riots could start at anytime and anywhere and I could become a victim. Even in my high school, there was a riot that led to students to become injured and arrested by the police. All in all, peace…

World peace is an idea simple in principle but difficult to achieve in practice because, as individual members of our species, we have not found peace within ourselves. But, it is impossible to look peacefully toward each other under constant threat for one’s survival.…
