Wages for low-skilled workers go down and we pay lowers prices for things like restaurants, meals, agricultural produce and construction. Since undocumented workers generally don't pay income taxes but use government services, they are seen as burden the tax payer money. Many economists generally agree that when averaged over the whole economy, the effect is a small net positive. Harvard’s George Borjas says “The average American’s wealth is increases by less than 1% because of illegal immigration” (Adam Davidson) . In 2016 there is an estimated population of 322,762,018 according to an end-of year estimate from the U.S Census Bureau, meaning that more than 320 million Americans have an increase of 1% in their wealth. Illegal immigrants are making Americans more money by coming to this country and working that not coming to this country. Immigrants only are taking jobs that Americans don’t want to do. For example maids and housekeepers, taxi drivers and chauffeurs, construction laborers, janitors and porters, bellhops, and concierges (Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler). There are many industries that have unauthorized immigrants. Leisure & Hospitality, Manufacturing and Construction are the top industries. But people believe that illegal immigrants are taking away over jobs, homes husband/wife and etc. But they are not. They work hard and sometimes harder that some people that were born in this country to receive a better life that they had in their own country. Immigration impact people in the United States because every time we have a deportation for an illegal immigration is very costly, we have to feed, give them shelter and transport that person back to their home country and that is more than having them in the country working to gain they own income. Which is better for the country economic. The government is wasting the tax payer money on people who wants to work to have a better life for themselves or for the family here or on the birth country. The government is spending $10,070.00 per person, for a total of $114 billion to just remove 11.3 million people from the United States.
