The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play written by poet William Shakespeare that tells the story of two teenagers, Romeo and Juliet, who are madly in love. The love of Romeo and Juliet is one of great excellence because it is forbidden due to the fact that Romeo’s family, the Montagues, are sworn enemies of Juliet’s family, the Capulets. The play takes place throughout the course of 5 days in which Romeo and Juliet meet, fall in love, and then die. The most romantic scene (arguably) is the balcony scene in which Romeo and Juliet speak and confess their love for one another. This is the scene in which the two decide to marry. The most grand romantic gesture in the play is in the tomb when both Romeo and Juliet both take their lives so that they do not have to be without one another, “For fear of that, I still will stay with thee, and never from this palace of dim night depart again. here, here will I remain with worms that are thy chamber maids.
