According to animalinfo.org, there are more and more animals becoming endangered every year throughout the world. Interestingly, the Mediterranean Monk Seal is recorded as one of the most critically endangered animals in Italy. Currently, the population of that species has been reduced about ten times compared to the period of the 1950s (1). This issue highly damages the nation. Apparently, zoologists and travelers do not have opportunities to study about that species so Italy can no longer be a choice for visitors leading to economic decline. Moreover, it also influences the knowledge of this species for the next generation. By the reason of the Mediterranean Monk Seal’s extinction, our offspring will never …show more content…
When a living area becomes poisonous, the animal can no longer live there, they are forced to move in order to protect their health. However, it is not always a good solution; moving into the wrong habitat can even hurt them more. In some area, there are already other animals living there. There is not enough food, water or shelter for all of them. Unless animals learn how to adapt, they will die out. On the other hand, chemical fertilizer can kill bugs that do not hurt crops. The birds and mammals which eat these poisoned bugs may also die, or they cannot reproduce leading to the scarcity of the race. However, hunting is a very cruel method of killing animals. Quick killing happens rarely in hunting. Many animals endure prolonged and exhaust deaths. A painful death is when they’re hurt but not killed by hunters. Besides, hunters usually use dogs as their hunting tools. Those dogs also suffer; they may get a serious disease or virus after the trip. Some dogs, which have not enough hunting skills, may get lost and die by starvation. Poaching is a very aggressive way to abuse and eliminates animals their natural habitats. Even when they try to hide, humans still find and slaughter their species.
Endangered species can be seen as a prominent factor that prevents a struggling ecosystem collapsing. In addition, many animals provide knowledge that helps in biological sciences. Some species can be used to dispense useful medical treatments, if their survival is hindered, there will be a loss of discovery of treatments for diseases or health problems (3). Likewise, maintaining biodiversity allows farmers to have a better agriculture, increasing food resources. Animals are so important to humans, and if a reserve hasn’t been made it a species, it would probably be extinct by now
